The two dishes ordered were delicious and of good value. Further surprised by a 30% discount. Sad to hear this long-standing restaurant will be closing up soon, likely due to poor business being located on the top floor of Downtown East.

Usually the food is quite good in terms of quality , taste and serving size.
Seems like if someone orders a take away dish, the serving size and quality is not as good. As everything is hidden in plastic bag and people can’t see.
However I ordered originally a bento size san lor hor fun and later changed by upsizing to ala carte version. The Malaysian Cashier staff made sure to collect more money but did not inform her colleague who is in the kitchen that the original order has been changed to upsized.
Please refer to photos. The final take away serving size is only abit larger than chilli packet, soup also half filled.
So perhaps better to dine in instead of take away to not be short changed.

We celebrated our dad’s 88th birthday at this place during CNY2021.
The restaurant staff (China lady, seems like their supervisor) tried to promote their CNY package but our dad can’t eat certain dishes such as prawns so we decided to pick those he likes and can eat dishes from the menu….
When she saw us not ordering the CNY set she raised her tone & said something like “is only once a year thing dun be so thrifty…” & I had to tell her our dad has Hepatitis & Fatty Liver etc so we have to order what he can eat and not what she wants us to order!!
The dishes served were nice but is definitely time to send to reveal staff prurient for customer service training!

Fantastic food here. Skilled chefs. Their version of rojak takes it to a whole different level. Steamed fish was excellent and fresh, worthy of the award that they have earned.

In my opinion the food was pretty tasty and quite reasonably priced. Most of the dishes were rather impressive. The penang asam fish is definitely worth trying; rich creamy sour tangy. The claypot brinjal is worth mentioning as well, really fragrant and comes sizling hot. The sea cucumber with duck was good as well. Really soft pieces of duck meat that has well absorbed the sauce its sitting in. Definitely will visit again.

The OG and creator of salted egg fish skin, Mr Kelvin Yam is the owner and chef of this restaurant. I've been here multiple times and they serve great food with reasonable prices. Food worth mentioning: Sambal kang kong, curry fish head, stir fried venison, marmite pork and of course the star, Salted egg fish skin. Today I tried some dishes I've never tried before, shown in pictures.. they were okay, but I would stick to my usuals😉

We ordered a medium fish head curry for $30 n other dishes for 4 pax.
The fish head curry was the greatest disappointment of all.
We expected the fish head to occupy at least half the bowl but the fish was so small that it’s not enough even for 2 pax. They threw in a piece of fish meat to compensate. I want to eat curry fish head not fish meat curry, how can they do that? I will boycott this restaurant n definitely will not recommend any friends to this restaurant.

Been eating here for many times.... I do feel that the standard of the dishes are going down...
Order the famous carry fish head... the curry still as good but the fish not as fresh; I mean it taste like from the pond not the sea...

Thank you chef Rick for the chicken briyani that you made for my party on 16 Dec! All my friends were totally in love with your briyani! Some claimed that it's the best they had so far! Keep the good food coming bro!
