Review Green On Earth - Singapore

Very tasty and clean vegetarian restaurant hiding in railway mall, it is Chinese cuisine with good variety. The mala 麻辣香鍋 is reallg awesome and a lot of options to select. If you didnt like spicy food, you can still enjoy it with mild spicy level. The restaurant is very clean and they serve pretty fast. I became a regular now. Strongly recommended.

Came here with my family to celebrate Father's Day (June 2022). The food is pretty good, except for some dishes that were very oily (I think can tell from the photo haha). But I think can avoid the mala dishes if you prefer something less oily. Service is decent - more self-service than anything. You will need to queue to order. Will come again to try other dishes for a more well-rounded review :)

First time trying vegetarian mala stir fry. They weigh all the ingredients together... We chose small spicy, which was good. The mala ingredients should be about $50... for 4 of us... Also ordered cereal mushroom - excellent choice.

An amazing Chinese vegetarian restaurant! It's situated in the Rail Mall complex so it's a good place to eat lunch or an early dinner while hiking the Rail Corridor. This place is quite big so you can bring a large group to dine. We ordered individual dishes but they have vegetarian/vegan hot pot here as well. Furthermore, there is also a buffet to add more flexibility for diners. The food was delicious and the flavors and spice levels were on point for us. We had to order seconds for some of the dishes we initially order because we liked them so much.

The place was packed on a Thursday evening. It is a good idea to reserve a table in advance. The place has a dedicated mala section apart from the usual food items. We had ordered a variety of dishes and it did not disappoint. The only dish I did not like was Fish in spicy fragrant sauce. The sauce fell short and did not live up to its name. Rendang and green curry were a hit and so was stir fry brinjal.

Was at Green on Earth for lunch on 20 Feb 2022. Favourite treat for my health buddy group after our hikes if around that area. It’s a yummy vegetarian restaurant with friendly staff & great food & drinks (warm winter melon tea & sour plum for us today. Also tried their yuzu tea, lemon grass tea on other occasions - all refreshing & satisfying so far). Our all-time favourite, the man tou (with condensed milk for dipping) & fried Hokkien Mee, must try! All dishes were delicious & we wiped our plates clean save for the sugar cane sticks (after we sucked out the juice in the cumin “pork ribs” dish) (new choice & a good choice at that), & a small bit of the Hokkien fried mee that was soaked too much in the chilli - we couldn’t take that much of spiciness. Loved the braised tou fou dish, enjoyed the “shark’s fin soup” that tasted great with a bit of vinegar & pepper. The cedar shoot fried rice was also tasty! The restaurant was bright with a pleasant ambience. Free parking at roadside just outside of restaurant available; if not, parking at the open air carpark available next to the row of shophouses where it is located. Per pax, we spent about $24 for a very enjoyable healthy meal. As usual, we had a lot of fun there… enjoying great food in a friendly , clean & comfortable setting - great for family & friends get together over healthy, yummy meals.

Amazing Spicy Fragrant Pot 麻辣香锅 vegetarian style! Choose the monkey head mushroom! It’s an absolutely must! The first we ever had, and it felt clean, healthy and not oil. Definitely coming back here again!

Very packed when we arrived about 6pm on a Saturday evening. Lots of people (almost all tables) ordered their self-picked stir-fried mala ingredients. People are pretty confused with the queue as 1 side you queue for picking your mala ingredients, while someone else queue to order a la carte. In fact, it is only 1 queue. We ordered Mapo tofu which is a bit salty but good! Monkey Head Mushroom Vinegar is a bit too sweet for our liking. Tom Yum soup is sweet instead of spicy and acidic. Stir-fried greens is good. Worth a trip to be back to try other dishes.

It was a messy place for buffet style food due to the points below : 1) I walked in, expecting someone to serve as I had already booked a table. The cashier was busy with payments, no one directed us where to sit. 2) Had to search for the correct person to ask where I could be seated as I had booked a table. 3) The food on the buffet table wasn't labelled at all, I had to guess what each dish is. 4) The plates were used up and no one was free to check what to be topped up. 5) Many of the dishes were spicy and not suitable for kids. I paid $24 for my 2 kids to eat some grass jelly and a few pieces of somosa. 6) The buffet is not worth the $18 at all. 7) I have food allergies and can't take soy and diary items. Most of the items contains soy and diary and I feel a little thirsty after consuming the food there. Won't be going there again. I travelled from the North-East all the way to Teck Whye area. Quite a disappointment.

Was never a fan of vegetarian food in the past but Green on Earth changed that with their delicious dishes that i can't get enough of. Favourites include nonya fish, thai style fish, rendang monkey head mushroom, oatmeal cauliflower, curry mutton.... the staffs are also very friendly and warm...

Service was bad. Arrived there about 8pm and there was an empty table but there was no one clearing it. One of the staff even asked us to clear the table ourselves. That was not all, Ordered food at 8.30 and waited at least half an hour before food even arrived because of "busy hour". As a food and beverage provider, should be prepared at times for peak hours and have sufficient staff to service customers. Lastly, food price was expensive, costing around $35 for a simple mala with maggie mee...

Staff keep recommending expensive option the bundle set when we just want to order a simple meal. When we told them that we do not want the expensive option, they only left us with 2 options which are the minced pork rice and mushroom dry noodles which costs around $5+ each. But the problem is, that the food quality is bad, with only a small serving and tasteless food.

Lousy food and hot place for lunch.. Expects better tasty food with the quoted price but food is not up to standard.. So disappointed with the lunch today.

Not worth the price, food was mediocre, and with the bad service they provide, never going back again. Terrible experience.

First impression wasn't good when we walked in. Trying to lookout for the staff to tell him that we need 2 seats, the male staff told us don't know if have seats and then he walked away, until a nice Indian staff got the seat for us. Don't feel welcomed on the first impression. The foods that we ordered are pleasant, portion is small for the price paid. Would recommend to have the price list on the menu for every dishes instead of only telling the price when we making order. This will be more convenient for both restaurant and customer too. If happen to be around the area, would give a chance to try again. Otherwise will not make a trip down there.

I didn't want to post, but for the sake of first time unaware customers, am warning them you must be prepared to wait for a very long time to get your food and accept the poor customer service. Made reservations for Mother's Day, because i saw on a food app that this was a recommended place. After ordering, kept checking on the status, they kept saying we're working on it. Only the drinks and one bowl of kuay teow came but not the big zhi char main dishes. Finally, after one hour, because my parents were feeling very upset, I had no choice but to raise my voice to demand an explanation from the staff. Turns out they hadn't even started preparing the food!!! And that they would work on it now. Asked how long it would take and they didn't want to say, upon further probing they said it would take half an hour more to prepare. By then I just lost faith in their "promises". Was so upset it's Mother's Day and I wasn't going to make my mom wait half an hour more when she had waited one hour already, so canceled the order and left. Seriously, if you are short handed and can't cope, stop greedily trying to take in more customers, and focus on getting your customers served first! Yes, it's a peak occasion but I've eaten at other places on special occasions and I've never had to wait that long! Never gonna come back here again. Advice: Invest in some kind of digital ordering system (that's what the Productivity Solutions Grant is for!) as well as buzzer system. Hire more chefs. Simplify your menu (you are giving priority to serving your customers over at the Mala counters and hence delayed the cooking of the zhi char dishes). Improve customer service. Prioritise existing customers and treat them better.

My hubby and I were visiting from Sydney, Australia and my uncle and aunty took us out for a lunch treat. It was an extremely hot afternoon so we chose to sit inside under the fan. We decided to order a few mains and share. We got the sweet and sour fish, chilli kangkong, steamed rice and the nonya laksa which one of the specials of the day. Food was scrumptious and of generous portions. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and found the hostess to be friendly and helpful. I'd certainly go back again. Thumbs up for sure.

Food is expensive for the small portions served. Ma la xiang guo is very expensive. All vegetables and I cannot understand why the pricing is as such. The food is not too bad but I will not return again for the high prices. There are way better restaurants and eateries around.

The Mala pot is really delicious! The buffer mushrooms are also very fragrant and tasty unlike the other eateries! Staffs are also very genuinely interested to find out if they can improve.. Thumbs up for the service and good food!

Like the mala dry noodle! Tried once and always craving for it! Nice food, nice location, nice ambiance, nice service. If there must be something to picky about, perhaps the serving of noodle can be slightly bigger? :P

Love the mock cocktail and ma la xiang guo. Ma La Xiang Guo is special. Not easy to find a good vegetarian version of it.

Cosy place! Like the mala, Claypot rice and rendang mushroom rice. My girl liked the Kway Chäp! Dishes are Reasonbly priced and staffs are friendly. Will be back again.

Long queue because no one was at the cashier. Placed an order finally after 10 minutes (and I was second in line). Waited for another 10 minutes for someone to tell me whatever I’ve ordered has sold out. Changed my order to something else after confirming they do actually have the replacement dish. 7 customers after me were being served their orders while I was waiting. Went to tell them they have forgotten about my food. They didn’t apologise. Instead they went like “eh? You’re not served? I already told the chefs. You have to wait.” Waited and saw 4 more customers after me being served their food. Went to get a refund and left. Worst customer service ever. Never met such a bad set of crew. If you cannot handle crowds, this is probably not what you should do. Restaurant wasn’t even at full capacity. Not even half, actually.

Very bad experience, table is not cleared but yet brought us to the table and it took 15 minutes just for the staff to come and clear. Mala is expensive. Drinks served only 20 minutes later. Never going back again

Very nice and cozy place. We ordered the chicken rice, Mushroom soup Udon, Mee Rebus, Rojak Fry Tofu, Crispy Mushroom, lime juice and cold Chrysanthemum. Food was nice especially the Mushroom soup Udon and the Crispy Mushroom. Portion wise was reasonable.

Awesome food place .... wide variety of good vegetarian food at reasonable price n lovely ambience! Not forgetting their signature Thai ice tea too (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♡ They definitely grew in experience and the customer service was really good. Prompt response, and been there twice ... once in June n once in July. Though we are staying in near the east side but, it’s worth the ride for delicious n harmonious food gathering with family. Our parents walked away with pleasantly superb and fun experience with the Mala Xiang Guo, Zi Char and 串烧 (๑>◡<๑)
