The wings are juicy and flavourful. It’s version of prawn paste marinated fried chicken is more salty than usual, perhaps a dash of lime will balance the flavour. The cutlet was quite dry though and the rice is even drier and tasteless. The rice did not help bind the flavour of the chicken, tasted uninteresting and texture is bad. White fluffy white rice would be much better than what is served now. Kudos to the Uncle who served us during busy hours and keeping his smile

Came to this stall thanks to my friend and also Seth Lui recommendation. Normally, I always assumed Har Cheong Gai (shrimp paste marinated chicken) to be overly salty and too rich to eat.
However, Ah Tan Wings were quite balanced. Still deliciously salty but not too overpowering. In fact, you can further cut the richness or saltiness with a dash of lime/lemon that they provide if it's still too salty.
Also, I am happy that the uncle gave me extra wings for free maybe cause they made me wait a while hahaha 🤣.
On that note, you may have to wait a little while since it's all cooked to order to ensure the quality 👌

There is a little wait at this good stand as they fry the chicken wings in batches. After you pay, stand by the side for your order to be ready. Had the 2 chicken wings set as a takeaway. Comes with a small serving of flavoured rice, a few pieces of cucumber, and an egg with runny yolk. The rice was well cookes and had some chicken stock fragrance. The wings had a good rich shrimp paste flavour that will put some zi char places to shame. Really crispy crust that isn't hard. Woulfld have been great if the marinade penetrated more into the meat. And don't forget the chili which packs a little punch and goes really well woth the rice

Order the Chicken Wings set that comes with 2 decent size wings, an egg, some cucumbers and rice. It also come with some awesome chili that you must try.
The wings are well marinate which are crispy and you can taste the prawn paste but not too salty. The down side is that the chicken is a bit dry and so it the rice. If they can improve on the dryness of the rice, I will give them a 5 stars.

Ordered the chicken wing set - not sure whether the disappointment is caused by those positive reviews. Was far below my expectations of prawn paste chicken. Prawn paste is not strong and the size of chicken wings is rather small. The huge minus comes from the very dry and hard rice. Taste like rice that been placed outside of rice cooker for oo long .

Was looking forward to trying the prawn paste chicken that was so highly rated. Got the chicken cutlet and chicken wing set. Finally got to try it and was really disappointed. Egg was pre-cooked and dry. Rice was lumpy, tasteless and mushy. Fried chicken cutlet was good but had very little prawn paste taste. Fried chicken wing was a little more flavorful but was served cold. Place was also very unhygienic and they were marinating the chicken wings on the floor.

Really yummy prawn paste chicken wings and chicken cutlet! While the chicken remains the star of the show, I must say I was really impressed with how fragrant the rice was too. No doubt a lot of effort was put in for the dish! Value for money and a definite must try!

Ah Tan Wings has been on my bucket list after reading reviews of the har cheong gai from up north (Yishun, not Malaysia), and trying the set from Maxwell, it definitely doesn’t disappoint.
Had the set A recently which consists of 2 wings, an egg, and flavoured rice. The set has quite a decent portion of ingredients, and most importantly, the chicken’s super flavourful and has a “har cheong” taste that’s natural and balanced.
