The food is good and the sashimi is really fresh, while the service is more on the slow side. I ordered the Salmon Tower Don, California Maki and Beef Sukiyaki Nabe. The Salmon tower Don is really fresh and tasty, but its portion at $20 won't woah you. Beef Sukiyaki Nabe is typical of what you will expect but the Maki is something I will order again. Normally, I frequent Genki sushi in bugis+ and this time I wanted something nicer than usual. In comparison to Genki, the food here is better (of course it is more expensive as well), has cosy ambient and at a justifiable price-point.

Otaru curry rice ($17.8 ++)
We got a 1 for 1 promotion during their 1 year anniv so it's worth it! Otaru curry rice have 3 kind of meats, chicken katsu, karaage, and ebifurai (fried shrimp) so we could try all the meat served in their curry. The karaage is not as crispy maybe because it's dipped in curry sauce but the meat is sooo soft. The ebifurai is also very good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken katsu is the worst, it's crispy and the meat is sooooo hard. I don't know what kind of chicken or how old the meat is but I don't recommend it.
The service was great and friendly. The waitress are so nice and helpful to us!

Otaru Suisan was having a 1-for-1 today, so I thought I would give them a try. Service was brisk. I ordered the Salmon Mentai Don. I was rather disappointed by the portion. On any other day, this bowl would cost $13.80, and after service and GST, it would be $16.24. I was thus surprised to see a bowl with only 4-5 slices of salmon. The portion was surprisingly small. The mentaiko sauce was just ok. The tamago was ok too. Wasabi was a bit too liquid-like for my liking.

Reaching for the Stars
First visit to the restaurant and we were greeted by a friendly service crew named Maggie. She was attentive and full of smiles. We ordered Philadelphia Sushi Roll and an Unagi Don, as recommended. The food was served promptly and was sizzling hot too. Definitely a good recommendation by the service crew and surely, we will be back again. Thumbs up! Comparable standard to sushi tei.

Disappointing first visit and will be the only time. Ordered bara chirashi don set and had to send it back to the kitchen and changed my order. Tha raw fish was diced to tiny pieces, in miserable portion and sparsely scattered over the rice. Changed to salmon tower don. For something 23 bucks ala carte, i would have gotten fresher fish and heartier, generous portion at manzoku.
The only good thing was that the server allowed me to change my order, but he also mentioned that i’m the only customer with this complaint. Seems like he hasn’t got time to check the google reviews.

We ordered the beef sirloin cubes, staff didn’t ask doneness. When it came the doneness of the steak was well done. Asked to recook to medium rare. New one come still medium well to well done. Horrible place to eat steak.
Also when asked to recook medium rare, the Chef still angrily question back of why didn’t we state the doneness in the first place. Why would any Chef cook the steak to well done in the first place. Will never come again.
