Been to this outlet today 2 June 2022 @ around 1657hrs. The service that I had encountered with the one of the staff at the outlet has been terrible and unforgiving. Please educate your staff on simple manners especially if u are all doing the front liner work. U know what I mean u can view the CCTV on the incident. Will never step my foot again at this place.

Is Yakun kid friendly? What to order at Yakun for kids.
1) Jacobs Biscuits Sandwich with Butter
Not exactly healthy but this simple yet delicious snack 😋 is a fave amongst kids.
2)Kaya Bread Toast
The obvious choice at Yakun for kiddos and adults alike.
3)Cheese Balls
You can't go wrong with cheese balls. Simple treat for the young ones.
But....the seating is almost always occupied on weekends. Place is cramped and not really suited for children especially young ones to hang out. So get ready to wait or come early to avoid the crowd. They are open as early as 8am!

Coming here hoping to enjoy a good breakfast set, but this lady in short hair wearing black at the cashier, spoilt everything. She was really rude. Even talking to her own staffs, especially to one of the uncle, was exceptionally rude. Literally shouting at him. Hope the management can review this.

Didn't realise shop closes at 8pm and went in ~740pm, hence items was served with disposables. We weren't warned about the closing time and staff proceeds to turn off all the lights while we were still dining... What's more is the disappointment from quality of food, too much soya sauce added to egg (salty) and toast served was not toasted properly (soft). Cashier didn't bother to check whether drinks should be upsized as well and no receipt was given from the transaction. Worst experience from Ya Kun over the past few years...

Consistent yakun kaya toast if you're around the area. I think they are especially useful if you're here shopping at Thomson Plaza, that you also stop by for some good kaya toast with butter. Prices are reasonable, and quality really is extremely value for money. The soft boiled eggs are somehow monstrously large, for some reason.

On more than one occasion, the half boiled eggs served were lukewarm. Realised the eggs had been prepared earlier to reduce waiting time and clear the queue. This is done at the expense of food quality. This outlet is also particularly hot if you sit inside as the air conditioning isn't working well.

Much better than the one which was the Yakun Family Cafe. The tastes of coffee and the toast are consistent and the servers are more friendly compared to the other cafe. It is a good welcome. Competition is good even with the same brand. My favourite was the Wangs but for the moment they are closed under renovation. The previous cafe in the present Yakun, I guess, could not survive, in this trade. There is a very efficient layout of the preparation area and the ways the work flow. Of course the culture of the firm that practise good service and consistent food content will be preferred over any new comers. Many youngster that have the dream of owning a cafe and be their own boss, will easily burn more than 100K in setting up a single cafe the size of this new one. The late owner of Beef King, once revealed that his initial capital outlay was 200k for his stall at Lido basement.
