Review Big Street Singapore - Singapore

Went for their Crazy Asian Buffet and it was well worth the money. Dishes were served in small bowl which is perfect for sharing and you can order as much as you want without food wastage. The food has some hits and misses but mostly hits though. Service was excellent. The Chinese waitress who attended to us was very friendly and polite even though she had to take care of four tables at one time. The restaurant has a cosy setting with air-conditioning.

The various types of prata are very nice, especially the Coin Prata with chilli crab gravy. The usual dishes like bryani and fried hokkien noodles are so so only. Must say that the prices are at the high side. The service is fantastic! Visited again today, ordered seafood hor fun, old garlic chicken noodles, satay and coin prata with chicken curry. Tastes still as great. Good service too. Thumbs up!

Decent local food with a modern twist. Good for groups as the restaurant spans a few floors and is quite spacious. Salted egg yolk prata was very decadent. Prata with mutton curry/chicken curry/chili crab dip was small (as in the pratas themselves were very small, but great for tasting). Can afford to skip the pulut hitam with chicken.

Very cosy and great atmosphere. Definitely a great place to dine in with friends and family. Food wise is good albeit slightly on the higher end (considering the type of food you're eating). Tried the briyani with mutton curry, the chicken satay wrap and the unorthodox salted egg prata bomb all of which are decent. One problem is that the temperature of the food when served is slightly on the colder side which was something that I didn't quite like. For example the prata for the wrap tasted as if it is cooked earlier and left there only to be reheated when serving. On top of that tried the chendol which was pretty tasty as well.

Went on a Sun after the lunch crowd. Quite empty & was ushered to a table in the center behind the bar on 2nd level. Would give more stars if service crew directed us to a better table with a view of the bar or outside scenery but guess was given a smaller table as only 2 of us. Food is quite nice, like the lower level of salt used in its curry. Love the salted egg version with it oozing out, it would sort of crystallise when it cools, giving more texture... Plate seems empty though, should work on the presentation. Reasonably priced...

Very good location, convenient & within walking distance from Mrt station. Food(a la carte buffet )comes in small servings which 3 of us like cos no wastage.

Was here for an old friends' gathering of abt 20-30 ppl. The bright & spacious upper floor, coupled with the delectable display of yummilicious food & friendly staff make this a great place for group gathering.

The crab fried rice, prata and long Island tea is a great combination. I strongly recommend this place for group gatherings. I have been here 5 times, each time trying out something different from their menu.

Really lovely place. Am surprised that the food was so good. The fish head curry was the best of the whole range of dishes my family tried. It has enough kick for it to pass off as one from a traditional curry fish head shop

Tried Big Street after reading The New Paper's review on Thu, 19 Oct 2017. The Salted Egg Prata Bom blew us away - so much salted egg liu sha tt there was wasn't even enough prata to soak everything up! (y) Also had the chilli crab in prata wrap, which was not bad, as the prata kept the crab sufficiently warm, only tt the gravy had a bit too much starch n wasn't spicy enough. The waitstaff Aishah did a gd job keeping our glasses filled n even gave us return vouchers for the platter w 1 teh/kopi tarik n 1 sg sling shooter. We'll definitely b back! :)

We had our annual staff Christmas lunch here today and were wow-ed by the taste, quality and uniqueness of the food. It started with deep fried mushroom prata rolls, which looks somewhat like the ngoh hiang but is rolled prata skin with surprisingly juicy mushrooms. My next favourite was the turkey; the tenderness was just nice but without being dry at all. We were caught out by the Assorted Seafood Prata Bowl though. It was a seafood topped bowl of prata - crab, prawns, squid in chilli crab sauce – so nice we just had to ask for our leftovers to be bagged home. The place also has a contemporarily fused mixture of heritage chic with leisure dining in a comfortable air-conditioned environment. Not only is the food Instagram-friendly, the restaurant is as well; my colleagues and I could not resist taking a few photos. Kudos too to the wait staff who were always attentive and polite. It was a positive dining experience. Thank you, Big Street!

Came here last weekend after recommendations from friends, my kids headed straight to the second floor where I was awe struck! High chairs by the bar counter, comfy IKEA-like arm chairs with coffee tables (good for chit chats) and we, however, settled for a regular table of 6 beside the huge projector screen. There’s a good selection of local favorites and I’m surprised to find a category called “The Healthier Choice”! Since the kids spotted the darts machine at one end and has disappeared from sight, I did the ordering for them. I ordered Chicken Rice and Hokkien mee and on the iPad, i can choose if I wanted breast meat, or if I wanted the skin removed! Healthy food can still be tasty! Their signature Salted Egg Yolk Prata Bom is a must try! The Chicken Mushroom Prata Bom is somewhat like a chicken pie in disguise : ) We had to order another serving of the Prata Coins after the kitchen kindly acceded to our request of having condensed milk as a condiment in addition to the bowl of curry provided. Prata tasted so good with condensed milk! We also ordered several types of Prata Bola (aka Prata balls) to try and we have nothing but praises for the curry chicken one. We could snack on that all day ! My kids can’t wait to go play darts again and I can’t wait to pop another Prata ball in my mouth!!!

We were accommodated warmly by the owner of Bigstreet. We had great time munching a complete meal which started from a creamy mushroom soup to chicken sate highlighted with all vegetable pizza and seafood noodles( can't remember how they call it but highly recommended ) then winding up with a hot milk tea. Love the place , love the food and love the warm gestures of Bigstreet staff.

Went there for dinner with my dad and sister’s family. We ordered varieties and get to try many dishes. Starting with the Espresso Stout from Hitichino. Pleasant surprise with how coffee is blended into the stout. We went on with Prata Bola - curry chicken. Like the way how the proportion of prata and curry “melted” in the mouth. The Merlion set was a good way of tasting local delights in one meal. The pulut hitam chicken sushi was unique too. Prata was creatively incorporated in many dishes. I also like the spacious yet cozy dining ambience. Will recommend to my friends ^_^

We had a small birthday celebration for my hubby last Saturday. Cut it short - great food with great service from the team! What can I ask for more? Erin is a very dedicated person. She’s been so good and patience to explain the food menu and adjust according my needs for the reservation. Although she was not well last Saturday, she still follow up on the day and after sales to get my feedback. Another need to thank is Ugis - he was very attentive to all our small requests from our table. Bravo to some of your staff as well! The food! Hokkien mee, fish head curry, new menus such as salted egg pizza prata and pulut hitam chicken sushi are the GEM! Yum Yum! I’m happy that I choose this place to give a birthday dinner surprise to my man. Thanks again Big Street! We definitely will come back again!

I had my best meal in Singapore here. Delicious food, attentive service from both May and Song Huan. Futuristic bathrooms. I'll hope to return to Singapore to enjoy another meal here.

The ambience was good, friendly staffs, and amazing food! We had visitors stopping over in Singapore for 2 days, they wanted the Singaporean food treatment. After our dinner, my sis and I were just taking a stroll along Jalan Besar when the cakes in display at Big Street caught our attention. We decided to go in and have some desserts to satiate our sweet tooth! We had a slice of ondeh ondeh cake and vanilla ice-cream with brownie. I must say both were really tasty. Not too overpowering and just nice. Special thanks to the staff jill and ugis for taking care of us, despite us ordering just desserts. Little did we know that Big Street has other palatable dishes to offer. We are definitely coming back to try the delectable looking main courses!
