Review The French Table - Singapore

Disappointing meal. Their Cassoulet is such a disappointment, had expected more since it's one of the more expensive dish in the menu. The saving grace was their duck confit which was not bad.

Their 1-for-1 mains promotion really made it worth eating here, especially with their signature roasted chicken and flavourful mushroom sauce! Definitely the star dish.

Service is good and prompt. But roasted chicken too dry for our liking. Garlic Chicken Wings taste ok. Salmon Avocado Salad is good thou. But price is definitely reasonable. Will return again to try the duck confit.

Ordered the duck confit at 12.30pm... it looks like a reheat from last night left over and was very salty. Exchanged it for half a roast chicken which came after my partner has finished her steak... Ordered Medium Rare Steak, half the steak was medium rare, half the steak was medium... Request to take away the chicken and requested for some sauces. Was expecting them to pack the sauce separately but they just drizzle onto the chicken... and was told I have to pay extra if I want to pack separately... well.. you could have let me know... I was so tempted to just leave that packed box at the counter while your staff was trying to justify her action because I know by the time I reach home, the chicken will be all soggy... Disappointed that food & services had dropped since my last visit a few months back... what's the point of letting user to post their feedback on your Facebook and choosing not to publish them...

I went there with my mum. The atmosphere was very stuffy as if there was no air conditioning. Staff is very rude and treated us like beggars. We even had to get our own water. Food took forever and prompted us to ask the staff who then immediately brought them out (which means that they were already prepared and they just couldn't be bothered to bring them to us. What, we are supposed to go to the kitchen ourselves and get our own food while they chit chat is it? Then don't charge SERVICE charge). Food is over portioned and mediocre at best. The bill is over $100, which mean over $50 per person. At this price, we could've gone to a hotel restaurant which will definitely have better service, ambience and food. Verdict: Terrible ambience, atrocious service, mediocre food and astronomical prices. Needless to say, we've never gone back since, and never will. Would strongly recommend you from patronizing this excuse of a restaurant as well.

Overall, the food is above average with a few heavyweight dishes like the roasted chicken that are the strengths of the restaurant. Having said that, the whole 'french' getup isn't complete enough to be compelling (imo), and the menu needs to be refreshed to bring in some novelty. Offerings outside of the main dishes - e.g. sides, beverages, desserts - also have space for improvement.

Ribeye was of very low quality(had a very disgusting aftertaste) and was not seasoned. Beef cheeks were more like solid bricks and were as dry as hell. Only thing worth mentioning was the cream of wild mushroom which tasted good.

The pasta they serve has a deeply steeped fragrance that is difficult to replicate.
