One of the most decorative vegan restaurant I had seen. Food is amazing. Staff is so cool and they love to recommend about best food option sharing about cafe and their passion about cafe. From entry point to exit point you can find books which is my weakness and I love the collection. Food is awesome and definitely going to visit more and more to try all items on menu. Special thanks Vasu who serve the food told about history behind cafe and made our Saturday lunch memorable. Looking forward to see you soon

Awesome staff and very service oriented. Keep it up. Food was excellent and love the sandwich. Excellent ambience and colonial deco, brings out old charm. Modern cuisine adds colour too.

It has a very nice ambience. BUT the music is so LOUD and get to the point is suffering to be there. The music selection is nit suitable - Very clubby. I feel like I am in a club instead of in a restaurant with lots of books. I think they purposely make the music so loud so that people can’t stay for more than an hour. The SERVICE IS SLOW. The food is actually quite good unfortunately the restaurant is DESTROYED by the music and the service . Hope the right person can take over before it is too late. Will NOT COME BACK again, unless the management has changed .

Food was pretty bad, but i went on the first few days. Pad thai was extremely lemony and the broccolini and tofu had no seasoning, tasted very blend. Sandwich (can’t remember the name) was boring and felt like a home cooked sandwich. I’d recommend using a fatter bread with more substance instead of the thin kopitiam vibe bread. (Picture attached w insides of sandwich, looks pretty sad too) So hopefully they improve Ambience was not bad but music was too loud and it felt like a club more than a bar. Cocktail from next door was great tho. We complained about the pad thai and sandwich and they gave us ice cream to calm us down. Ice cream was really good. Really hope they improve cause i like the concept (prices could come down 20% tho)

Had a lovely dinner date at this beautiful space and got a little room all to ourselves on a quiet Thursday evening... Service was warm and friendly from everyone, esp our lovely server (Belle, I think?) and the food was warm and comforting and delicious 😊 if anything, the clubby music choice was a little odd for the space but unlike previous reviewers I didn't find it loud enough to be disruptive. The hotel lobby itself is delightfully quirky too, with all the owner's colonial themed memorabilia and family memories! Would def rec

Came here with 2 friends for breakfast after seeing it was recommended on some website. The ambience and decor was nice, very colonial. My friend and I ordered a poached egg and smashed avocado ($28) as seen in the photo, another friend ordered a soft scramble egg ($28). I probably had a higher expectation on it since it was priced at $28 however, the egg was luke warm and the bread was not toasted so it basically tasted cold. On top of it, the new serviette on my friend's plate was stained with lipstick. The service by the waiter who served us was polite and good however, I couldn't say the same for another waiter. My friends and I were taking pictures near our table and I pushed in my chair (inwards to the table) so that it would not get in the way of my friend but that particular waiter came over to say we were not allowed to move the furniture. He said he saw me moving the chair and I asked if I can't push in my chair?! He walked off without apologising. He came back a few minutes later (about 11.15am) to get us to leave the cafe as they will be closing for break. The total bill was $98.87. The experience was bad. We will not go back again.

Super pretty place, nice and relaxing ambience. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and setting! Recommended!!!

Nice ambience and decor, and comfortable seating. Unfortunately let down by slow service, limited and expensive menu, and very modest portions for the price. Additionally, it looks like the café/restaurant is actively discouraging people from lingering in the cafe with loud, upbeat and drummy music. We came in the morning on a public holiday looking for a quiet breakfast and some time to read / chill before it got busy with customers, but the music though not overpowering is definitely enough to drown out casual conversation; it seems to be more suited for a disco or gym compared to a decor that aims to look like a library/reading room. This is no longer the Cook & Tras Social and I think the management is actively making sure everyone knows it....
