Comfort food at affordable price but one think I felt that they could do better is the menu. All over the place and wasn’t clear at all. If you have a small counter and if dine in to pick up you will need a simpler clearer menu. So people can come in, order and move along. That’s the only miss for me, overall it’s tasty. Worth to visit to get your curry rice fix.

Not the best Japanese food we've had. Second floor dining is available but feel no vibe. Not too expensive but not cheep. Drinks was not good.

Pretty extensive menu with great curry for the price. All the fried items were light and crispy, pairing well with the curry.

Staff and service is great. Food used to be superb. Please bring back the old menu where we are able to pick and choose what goes with the curry. Now we have to choose from a list of pre-determined items. In my opinion, when the pork is stir fried in the curry with onions, it really alters the original taste of it. The pork slices also contains soft bones, which made it difficult to consume without having to spit out every few minutes.

Decent food, quiet in the evening. Curry rice was ok considering the prices.

Delicious Japanese curry rice at affordable prices. The curry rice set is only $9.90 with soft drink and is a generous portion. The curry has a distinctive taste and yummy. The corn tempura is freshly fried and goes well with the Himalayan salt. Will try the do-it-yourself curry set next!

Not a bad place to have lunch. Relatively quiet and the food is acceptable. The curry rice set at $9.90 seems of good value. The pork cutlet tastes better (and is thicker) compared to the chicken.

We're back at the MidTown Mall this evening for a family dinner. This time, we went for the Otoku Japanese Restaurant. Simple curry rice with sides. The curry broth was rich, and not as sweet as some we have tried before, and the cutlet was crispy and tasty. All the sides were great, especially the seared Salmon Belly on fried rice! The crispy bits in the rice below, complimented the belly very well with layered textured from beady rice to the soft semi-crisp belly strips above. Quite a delight to eat.
Perhaps the only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars was the fact that my son's salmon Mentaiko was a little overdone, making the meat dry and rather flat in taste.
Overall, it was a good meal at reasonable prices:)
