It is a small cosy restaurant at a corner of East Village. The Saturday Promo Salmon Ikura Don 1 for 1 at $15 was value for money. Tasted good too. The Katsu Don was meaty and crispy, and one of the better one around.

Visited on 02 May 22 for dinner at around 6pm. Food & Service quality was mediocre - Chiwamushi was near tasteless, Bara Chirashi portion was small. Asked for special market fish for the day, waitress didn't know what was it and say that all they have is on the menu, a check with the chef he mention it's sold out. Wanted to order Yakitori but no more. Though Salmon Zukushi Don was good, placed another order of it during course of dinner, waited for 20mins and cancelled order because chef yet to prepare. Compared to dining experience at Upper Thomson Plaza Branch which was really great with good food. This Branch You Should Stay Away.

A good Japanese iazkaya restaurant at Tenah Merah area. A lot of choice of food and the price is reasonable. The Yamato is a bit disappointed as it doesn’t look nice, perhaps is the egg they use, not the orange yolk Japanese egg. The Yakitoris are all very well cooked, grilled squid has to wait quite long. Overall a good experience

Good daily deals. Have had the 1 for 1 salmon ikura bowl and tonkotsu ramen a couple times. However, the tempura moriwase and soft shell crab roll (pictured) were very disappointing. Soft shell crab roll did not taste like typical sushi at all, it just tasted bland and just not right… also it was $18… and the tempura was a pretty small portion for $16 if I remember correctly. I would return again but definitely not the sushi roll.

We had dinner elsewhere but decided to pop by for drinks and some snacks / light bites. Service was alright. They gave us the color changing cup with Sakura. Strangely the pink Sakura leaves floated onto the surface of my sake cup. We asked for a change of cups and they obliged. They didn’t have the sake we wanted in stock but that’s fine. Good thing is also we could take our unfinished sake bottle away with us. Edamame and the pork asparagus skewer pretty standard. Too bad we went a little late and they had to close even before we finished. Still a nice place to chill I believe. I wouldn’t mind returning to try their extensive menu.

This place has very good food. Not busy even on Sunday and lunch hour! The pork is thick and juicy and the chawamushi is made to perfection with no bubbles from top to bottom. The salmon teriyaki has a lot of flavour even in the fish and the serving sizes are generous.🤩

Worst experience ever.
Firstly - Their food selection is very limited compared to Thomson branch. (1) Wanna order whole fish for raw sashimi but they ran out of stocks. (2) Wanna order Yakitori but they don't have it even though the menu shows.
Secondly - Cleaniness and Service. Their serving plates are dirty. Serving staff didn't bother to replace immediately till I have to get it myself from other tables. Servers are quite inexperienced and blurred. Not once did they take the initiative to refill the hot green tea we ordered. Order was not prepared at all for more than half an hour after we ordered a 2nd round of donburi. End up we cancelled it.
Thirdly - Taste & Portion. Their chawamushi is tasteless compared to their Thomson branch. Potato salad and garlic fried rice is also less flavourful. Portion also seems to be lesser compared to other branches. Their food don't taste good.
Overall, it is a horrible experience for me for this branch. UTTERLY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

It’s a nice place to dine in and friendly staffs. Great food and my personal favourite is the pork cheek as you could see I have uploaded a couple of photos! Have been patronising a couple times. Definitely worth 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Yakitori prices are reasonable. Ranges from $1-$3.
Happy hour beer half pint going at $4.90. Not too bad a deal. Ordered the grilled mackerel. Extremely good. A must have if you visit this place. Had the fried shrimps. Goes very well with the beer. Overall, will come back soon.

I’m an oyster lover and I definitely look out for shiok oysters. These Japanese oysters are a little tad more expensive than usual oysters but cmon the extra dollars are worth it especially when the oyster itself is as big as its shell. It’s definitely the best oyster I’ve tried. Go on Tuesday when it’s Oyster Night whereby the oysters are $13 for 3 instead of $7 per piece. Beer is cheap too at $4.90. Where can you find it? Definitely going back again with my friends! Who wanna drink with me?

The food was wonderful and delicious, the ambience was suitable for every occasion. You can bring friends and family over for they have enough seatings. There seems to have a private room that you can book if you want to have a private dinner/meeting with people but not sure how.

Came back because their food was good but this time around I received very horrible service. After waiting for 30 minutes we decided to follow up on our order when we saw people who came later than us getting their food which is the same order as us. After 10 mins, they served us 3 chirashi dons when we ordered 2 chiarashi don and 1 unagi fried rice. I told them that it was a wrong order and asked about my fried rice nicely. Waitress went to check and said it’s coming. After waiting for another 15 mins, I asked another waitress and she went to check and told me that I made a mistake in my initial order and they only placed my order 15 mins ago, clearly refusing to admit their mistake. After waiting for awhile again, I asked them where it is and another waitress then told me they are going to prepare it now. By now it’s been close to an hour and I told them to cancel it. She walked away and then came back and said ok it’s cancelled. Sorry. And walked away. Disappointed and won’t be back! Won’t recommend during peak hour.

Definitely will not visit again, the food portions were very small and expensive. Food quality was normal at best. The meat was also tough.
There are a lot of better Japanese restaurants out there which offers higher quality dishes at a much more affordable price. Please don't waste your time and money eating here.

Rare find of a Japanese restaurant in the East. Perfect place for a chill night drink and bar food.

Only one table was occupied in your restaurant at this point in time besides mine, and two of your staff kept asking me to switch tables. Is this the expected service? I’m still waiting for another guest and I barely sat for 3min and I’m required to make an order? Bad service, I’m not returning here and you just lost a customer for good.
