Review Good Spice Carrot Cake - Singapore

Jan 2022: finally got a chance to try as there are often queues for this stall normally. Honestly not sure why there are queues when the black carrot cake that we got wasn’t that good. No wok hei at all. Maybe our expectations were too high having attempted to try this several times.

Another old school Fried Carrot Cake stall at Pek Kio Food Centre (Owen). Great for people looking for a quick bite or just to satisfy your craving for small bites early in morning. Tried the small portion of the black version of fried Carrot cake at just $2. WOW! The taste is just nice but for people who like it flavourful, I will say it is not that flavourful. But it has this very old school wok aroma which you will not taste it in places like food court or cafes. Not sure if it is also due to the old traditional frontage of the stall that bring out that traditional "aroma" which I did not manage to capture.

Go for this if you like a more consistent textured and more eggy carrot cake. The sambal belacan is amazing, they fry every single portion of chilli before serving. But frying of carrot cake is rather slow.

The carrot cake sells out by early lunch so be there early. The queue is manageable though it can still be a wait as the uncle will take his time to cook the carrot cakes. I find both the black and white are good and I’d always buy both. They serve the yin-yang type as well ie black and white in one plate. Cheap and good. Recommended!

「SG」🚨$2 carrot cake🚨 ❓Are you a savoury black or white carrot cake fan❓😋👌🏻🤤 I’ve been coming to this place in Pek Kio Market for carrot cake since young and they have maintained the quality over the years. The first thing that struck me was the aromatic fragrance of the well cooked eggs, fluffy and flavoursome. Homemade carrot cake accompanied with crunchy chai poh perfect to balance out all the flavours. Highly recommend this place!! ‼️Beware long queues expected‼️

Good Spice Carrot Cake #01-20 (Pek Kio Market n Food Centre); hrs: usually daily, 6am-1pm. One of my comfort foods since young. The stall’s fried carrot cake is Absolutely delicious. If u have some time to join the queue, can eat n must try their fried carrot cake.

I've been coming to this place for carrot cake for 6 over years and they have maintained their quality even after a change of chef. There is a reason why the queues here are consistently long. The black carrot cake is the best I've had and not found better yet.

The best carrot cake I know of. An incredible price of $2 for a regular portion. I usually make sure to buy before noon as they sell out quick!
