Review Sushi Tei - Singapore

Nori wrap and nori flakes were soggy, not fresh, sushi rice is not fragrant like other restaurants either. Hmm salad lettuce were in big chunks they were hard to fit into my mouth 😂 toppings for the salad were scarce too😢 was not impressed. But nice sushi packaging.

Great place for a grab and go sushi. You can customize your own sushi with a long list of ingredients they have. Love the concept and the sushi tasted delicious and fresh. The large sushi cost $9.90, a little on the high side but it comes loaded with a lot of ingredients. I would say it’s worth it. Only downside is that they make the sushi a little slow. But it was made up by the great service the staff provided. Really friendly and always smiling, kudos to that.

A great experience at this clean and friendly place. The people who helped us order were very friendly and the place was super clean. The ingredients were fresh and the service was quick. It was not crowded and we got the seats we wanted. Highly recommended.

Went with a couple of colleagues. Food was fine but nothing special. Ambience felt more like a fast food place then a restaurant. Its unique in the sense that its one of the few Japanese eatery that's Halal Certified. I say "Japanese" in the loosest sense of the word. It's gimmick is the DIY Sushi where u fill out a form with the types of topping u want and they'll make it for u and u collect it after they call your queue number. The paper boxes they package the sushi in looks cute tho. Taste wise is nothing special, nori wrap taste better then egg crepe. Egg crepe doesnt taste eggy at all lol. Feels more like rolled popiah then sushi tbh. Affordable and Good for a quick bite I guess.

When you need fast food but sick and tired of the other boring options, Makisan should be the cure for that. Best snack to accompany your movie!

I politely ask how to order since this is my first time and their first reaction to their customer is very rude. Too bad too bad. Even though is only me that buy the sushi. Maybe she have a bad day today. But everyone have it.

The Maki-San in general is okay but in this particular branch, the quality is always not-consistent. At least 3 times we encountered that the Mega San Sushi was broken and the content inside spilled out. The reason why we order this is also for convenience. So when the rice and contents are all over the place, it makes it hard to consume it.

So sad and disappointed with the Salmon Says, there were no avocado, salmon were tinny and the roll was not firm. :(

Had the valentine dinner items yesterday night. First time there, n the first impression was the great service from the waitress, friendly and sincere in introducing the food and offered to take photos for us without asking. The food was excellent, not easy to find such awesome succulent steak grilled nicely, generous portion for the lobster roll, coupled with the house wine rec by the waitress, nice combi. Dessert is great too, not too sweet, n really juicy cherries... the staff also explain to us the components of the dessert, thumbs up for that :) Guess the reviews really do justice to the food, shall return to try other items like the seafood mee sua next round. Overall, great service and awesome food.

Easily one of my favourite places to eat. I never worry about making a "wrong" choice from the menu, cos every item I've ever tried is delicious! The food is tasty, the menu is creative and updated every couple of months so every visit is always exciting, and of course everything cooked to perfection. For the light eaters, they have a bevvy of small plates and snacks. For the hungry, you can never go wrong with their rice bowls and noodles. For the aunties among us, there's no GST and no service charge. A+++ more people need to know about this place.

The best unknown restaurant in eastern Singapore. Never ordered anything bad on the menu. Exceptional food. The only thing stopping me giving it a 5 star rating is the fact that it is colder than the Antarctic in the restaurant. (This is coming from a Brit :P)

Everything has been excellent in my multiple visits. The burger is ridiculously good, but nothing is a bad choice on the menu.

Visited 3 times - breakfast , lunch and dinner. All good. Service is always polite and attentive. Love the tempeh crisps, fisherman Mee suah and their pork dishes. The one with kimchi (can't remember name) is really good too. My Daughter loves the truffle pasta - simple with generous amounts of truffle. Child meal - fish n chips - really good fish

have only been one time, and had the beef baguette (it was delicious) but will be back to savour the other interesting choices on the menu..... The cafe latte was ok, but not as good as I expected as coffee taste was a bit weak....

Food is amazing. Such bold flavours and really well put together menu. We really enjoyed our dinner! Recommend the fisherman's mee sua, tomato & olive soup and Shoyu & caramel waffle cut fries. Great space and great people. Will definitely come back again:))

Chanced upon this place for the first time. Service is good. Food is very flavorful and creative. Reasonably priced too. Will love to come back to try out more dishes.

Gastrosmiths was an original foodie gem hidden in Katong Shopping Centre a few years ago, but now in it's bright new space in i12 Katong it's even better. Don't expect subtle flavours or traditional dishes here - all the combinations are original and the flavours are rich and bold. Great for dinner, but also good for lunch or a snack and glass of wine after work - the aged cheddar grilled cheese toastie with red wine jam is a personal favourite.

Awesome food, exceptional service! Hokubee don was out of this world! Beats tanuki raw hands down.

A true gem of a restaurant! My favourite dishes are the Truffle Chopped Egg Crostini, Mushroom Soup, Signature Hokubee Beef Don (best dish seriously), Smoked Chicken Roast and G.S Mushroom Linguine. As a fellow Singaporean, it's heartening to see homegrown talent and restaurants serving quality meals with an innovative touch. Well-deserved.

The food is out of this world! Must try in Singapore. Definitely worth a trip down to Katong just to have it!

Chef Dillon has a unique flare in rojaking ingredients all up but making them taste all so harmoniously heavenly. Comfort in every dish!

So glad that they're back serving great food at even better value! Not sure how they did it, but nett pricing without service charge can only mean one thing to a glutton like me - order more appetizers and desserts! The new location in 112 Katong means more tables and less trouble finding carpark. After a satisfying brunch, can't wait to go back for the dinner menu.
