Review Ya Kun Kaya Toast - Singapore

Simple pleasure for simple guy like me. I asked for kopi-si (coffee with milk) and they charge me extra 20 cents.

This branch is always busy but the quality of coffee and food from here is always consistent. Tried purchasing through foodpanda today and was pleasantly surprised. Items were really well packed to ensure no spillage. Super impressed. Good job team. ➔ Follow @somuchfordiet on Instagram / Facebook / YouTube for more muslim food adventures and misadventures!

best yakun branch i've been to so far. ever so consistent with their toast and butters. generous and thick butter slices given, no cutting corners in their ingredients at all! toasts are always consistently crispy and well done, and steamed bread soft and generous with butter and kaya as well. i always like to add butter and staff would always give an extra slab. eggs are always nice and standard consistent as seen across all pictures. kopi here is amazing too. staff are all very kind and is a very cohesive team that work quickly with good service. staff would remember your orders if you are a regular! the hospitality is a big plus point. queue is always snakingly long at peak timings (mornings, post-lunch) but turnover quite quick.

Cheap food does not have to mean poor service, or does it? Prices of food here are affordable, many would agree. But service seems to be lacking. I visited this morning for takeaway. I wanted to use paywave but the woman at the counter said i could only pay by cash or NETS. As i have visited many times in the past using paywave for payment, i asked her 'Why can't you accept paywave today?". She rudely responded in Mandarin "I just told you that you cannot use paywave today. Why do you need to ask me "Why?". I could have retaliated in the face of her rudeness by saying "I'm asking 'why?' because i have brains that think." But i did not. I simply said "If your credit card machine is not working today, it is ok. I will pay by NETS" YA KUN, PLEASE TEACH YOUR STAFF WHAT IS "CUSTOMER SERVICE". Some training would be good, thank you.

Best yakun service I ever received so far. I accidentally spill my cup of kopi and the auntie is kind enough to replace it foc. She even helped to wipe the table clean twice to ensure no kopi stain for my seats. Their service deserve to be complimented with the ever helpful and kind singaporeans spirit

The quality of coffee here has remained consistantly good. Staff are all really nice and helpful, especially the uncle (boss?), they're best to control the crowd during the restriction period.

Space is small but good management. Notice to public to locate seat only when turn to place order. Not a place to enjoy coffee and chat during peak hours in morning.

If there's a unique Singapore breakfast it has to Steamed bread with kaya or peanut and half-boiled eggs and coffee. This steamed bread is like a blast from the past when I ate it as a child. Today local coffee shops can't steam bread so they toast the bread. And toasted bread are not the same quality. Yakun even cooked the halfboiled eggs right and served with shells removed as it's quite messy to remove shell. I've seen customers in other outlets spill the whole egg. Try this typical outlet as they specially served the handicapped like me. The boss at this outlet is so kind as he tells his staff to serve me without queuing. The staff takes my order and money and brings the food to me. He does this to senior citizens too. Frankly the best Ya Kun outlet in Singapore
