Review Emack & Bolio’s - Singapore

The best ice-cream I have had in a long time. Its like having ice-cream for the 1st time. The ice cream cones are really good. Choose any flavour of ice-cream on any type of cone... There's no going wrong. Staff here are friendly, helpful and polite! This has become my favourite ice-cream brand in Singapore.

If u r an ice cream lover, u can check this outlet. In terms of the price and taste almost comparable with Ben & Jerry except the portion is much bigger. If u like chocolate, go for their Chocolate Addiction and Toasted S’moreo. The Peanut Butter Oreo taste more like peanut butter spread. Yes, u can taste the flavour before buying it. $11 for a 2 scoops

My kids love their special ice cream cones that cost $3.50 and their oreo flavour ice cream. Overall, abit slightly more expensive $10.50 for one scoop and special cone. But the flavour and taste is good.

Because it’s opened by wanting so i support ;) So u select the type of cones u want on display and then choose ur flavors of ice cream. The entire cone of ice cream is v instagramable and ice cream texture is decent as well. Only qualm is price that is abit on the high side.

For a shop that is hailed from the USA, where customer service is usually good, I was very very disappointed with the lack of service from the 5-6 staff present at the shop in Jewel at Changi Airport. I went in to try it as there wasn’t any queue in the shop. After the last customer, I waited for at least 2-3 minutes before any of the staff even asked me what did I want. I requested to try 2 flavors first and the staff who ‘attended’ to me just passed the instruction to another staff at the back who had to pass me the ice cream order past 2 staff who were standing at the counter. Is there no ownership to attending to customers? I felt so grossed out that my food past through 2 staff who were talking, spreading their saliva while talking, onto my food. It seems like even after more than a month of opening (including the soft opening period at Jewel) that there is no system at all for this shop. Customer service is at a dismal level. I will definitely get a better service at shops like Baskin Robbins, Ben and Jerry’s, just to name a few. Hygiene standards were low too, as the staff were not even wearing gloves or face mask whilst handling food. My cone was being touched by the staff and they did not even bother utilizing the cone holder which they had placed on the service counter. I would think, either handling with a serviette or gloved hands , and face mask will be more hygienic. Thereafter, when we tried to give our feedback to the senior staff, he just looked at us with a flabbergasted look and said that they do not have a feedback form. Having no feedback form does not mean that you do not take feedback. The least the senior staff could have done was to take our contact and endeavor to contact us with regards to the feedback given. It was VERY DISAPPOINTING to see this lack of customer service training from a shop that has roots from 1975. Food wise, we chose the chocolate sprinkles sugar cone with the serious chocolate addiction ice cream. I found that the ice cream melted pretty much immediately after receiving it from the server, causing a lot of drips on the floor. This comes to mind that if a serviette was used to hold on to the cone instead of just the paper that comes with it, the ice cream would not be dripping onto the floor and thereafter cause a fall hazard to others. It had a chocolatey taste and I appreciated the bits of fudge inside. Would I revisit Emack and Bolio’s in Jewel Singapore again? Not a high chance of revisiting it in Jewel definitely, as there are other ice cream shops with a much higher customer service level in this same mall. I would probably just visit the other 2 branches in Johor Bahru if I really want to have it, else, there is always Ben and Jerry’s, Swensens, and Baskin Robbins in Singapore.

The chocolate addiction flavour is good but the caramel flavour was way too sweet. Overall not worth the $11 for 2 scoops. More if you select their fancy cones.

A great treat if you think you haven’t eaten any sugar for a week. Ice cream’s pretty decent but the cone definitely isn’t out of this world.

Menu stated $7 for a scoop of ice cream in a cup or sugar cone (waffle cone is additional $1) so I ordered a single scoop in a sugar cone. When I went to pay, my bill was $8 so I told the staff that I had ordered the sugar cone and not the waffle cone, and she replied “it’s the same thing”. Not sure what she meant by that since the menu clearly stated different prices. If it truly is “the same thing” then perhaps they should change their menu. My friends and i had 3 different flavors of ice cream and they all tasted very basic, not unlike tubs of Wall’s or Magnolia which you can get for almost half the price of a single scoop of ice cream here. Not worth the price tag.
