Portion was huge but I’m not a big hunger so I find quite pricy. With a soft drink I paid almost 10$.
Last time I took a chicken salted egg. Well, I really didn’t expect the taste of egg that much. I wish that I could have more sauce too because the meal in general a bit dry.

Value for money. Prices are on the higher side, but you will get a corresponding hearty serving. Wide variety from Western, Chinese and other local offerings.
I've been here many times, and the general consensus from fellow diners are that the food is good.
In terms of environment, it's spacious with both open air sheltered seating and enclosed air conditioned seats.

3.5* Though the cafe offers a wide variety of western and chinese local dishes, there are hits and misses. Their mee goreng dish is a flavourful hit, and comes with a big portion consisting of prawns, fish cake slices, tomatoes and vegetables. Food prices are slightly higher compared to the nearby food centre. The outdoor and air-conditioned seatings available can easily cater to large casual lunch groups.

Went there at noon time (approximately 12.30pm) and most of the food were out of stock for the DIY western food. No more pasta. No more iced milo.
Ordered chicken chop with salted egg sauce. The sauce tasted weird. It tasted more like a watery version of mashed potatoes with salt added. The grilled chicken tasted sweet.
Ordered kopi-o kosong peng and turned out to be a light colored drink like ice lemon tea.
Of our group of 7 diners, only 1 managed to finish the food.

Its a halal restaurant. I love the salteg egg chicken rice, its creamy and big portion. But the location (Bukit Merah) is a bit far from downtown. For salted egg lovers, this is a must try restaurant.

Alot of choices for food. Chinese, western, malay Muslim etc. Prices on the higher side though.. prepared to fork out $5 - $6 for a basic fried rice / noodles. That aside. alot of seats and spacious. Food is yummy and service is fast. Lunch deal from $8.90 comes with a drink.

Very bad service, Called one & they hanged up saying it is wrong number even though i clicked on the Google call now button & then some stupid rude guy calls back, I asked him to add some chilli to the order & he stared going off.
I should have read the bad reviews all over the internet before ordering from them!
And look at how they deliver the food, See the attached pictures. Will never order from them again!!

Has been eating here on and off. Food taste ok and got varieties of cuisine. Nice environment to eat, chat and chill. Dont go during lunch hour, it is packed. The place can still packed for a lot of diners if u are willing to wait for the food.
Management has to relook into educating the staff at cashier counter to understand English language.

Horrendous service. Ordered prata and curry chicken. After waiting for a long time for the item, we checked with the lady handling food from the kitchen. She simply dismiss our request to check the food and ask us to continue to wait. After waiting for some more time, we asked her to check again. She checked with the kitchen staff who in turn did not help to check through the kitchen orders. Waited again for some time. Finally I demanded that they check again. Kitchen staff realised that they missed out the order. Did not apologise and gave us a black face when serving us the missed out order. Food only so so but attitude of staff needs to improve.
Will not patronise ever!

Terrible operating of a restaurant. This is the 4th time yr outlet at bukit merah central is either closed or not selling food. But is not update at Facebook. Tried to call before I walk over to be restaurant and no one pick up. Really wasting ppl time pls buck up.

had to check with the staff for my food for more than 3x. was told to wait 6mins... 3mins... 1 min & another 10mins!!! we office workers only have 1 hr lunch so how much longer do we have to wait???? really wasted my time for a simple seafood fried rice. those who ordered after me were already enjoying their lunch.

My friend placed an order of kampong vegetarian fried rice, the Chinese cashier accepted our cash and the order went to the chef. Suddenly, she told us "vegetarian got egg inside" and I queried if she could omit the egg. The cashier got angry and said "cashier machine cannot key in no egg for vegetarian". Then she went on to say "like that don't want to to your business" and gave back the cash. Is it that difficult to omit the egg? Plus she was so rude! I know Kampong Cafe is earning big bucks to reject customers like this, but come on, at least don't be so rude?
Which reminds me of an earlier incident with this particular cashier. We once asked for less noodles in our dish because we didn't want to waste food that we couldn't finish. She said "cashier machine cannot key in less noodles" and promptly dismissed us.
Management, listen to the woes of your employees. If they say cashier machine cannot this or that, do work on customizing your machine to include more options for her to key in. I'm sure there are lots of Buddhist and Indian vegetarians around. And I'm sure there are lots of people who care about the environment and not wasting food. Plus we are doing you a favor if we ask for less ingredients, aren't we?
Do also work on teaching your staff good service. Our lunch time was totally ruined. I don't think my friends or myself would be patronizing this place anytime soon.

Kampong cafe at bukit merah ctral. The food mostly good and nice. Its very convenience and easy for transportation. Exactly at bukitmerah swimmig complex.
