Review Amk Curry Puff - Singapore

Claimed to be famous by my colleague so I decided to check it out. To my amazement, it is truly tasty! What I love about their curry puffs is their extra crispy pastry. The fillings are also very generous compared to their peers. Also to note is how fresh their stuffed ingredients are! Their yam with ginkgo nuts is a unique dessert. It reminds me of the Orh Nee (a teochew traditional dessert). Do come early for the yam puff because it popular and made in limit quantity. While waiting for your puffs you get to enjoy the ladies working on your yummy puffs. Will return for more!!!

Prefer the chicken curry puff. Today tried the new item on the menu, yam paste and ginko nut puff. The puff is stuff with a combination of yam paste, ginko nut and green pumpkin seeds. The taste of yam paste is limited as is I feel that the green pumpkin seeds destroy the over texture of the ingredients. Will prefer to have only the ginko nut and yam paste inside.

Very nice curry puffs. The spices are complex but not overly spicy giving the other ingredients like chunky potatoes, chicken and egg to shine through. Overall it is spicy, sweet and savoury and well balanced as a whole. The pastry is very slightly thicker but nicely crisp. A tad thinner would be nice. I think the pastry is closer to Malay style curry puff. Freshly made in the stall everyday. I find them quite addictive. 😋

Their yam paste 🍠 puff with ginko nuts and pumpkin seeds is delicious 😋 love their pastry which is really crispy (without being oily) even after several hours and complements the filings very well. They only sell- chicken 🐓🍗, sardine 🐟 and yam puffs which are definitely worth trying out ☺️

One of the last few independent handmade curry puff stalls in Singapore. They first started operating in 1978. The curry paste is unique and special. 2 different varieties of fillings are on offer, potatoes and sardines. over the years the size and shrunk and prices had increased but it’s inevitable due to inflation and and high cost of doing business in Singapore. Please continue to support independent Operators before we are only left with chains and food from central kitchen.

Sometimes is great but sometimes the curry puff skin taste like uncook dough. That today lol.. won’t buy again.

Many years of handmade curry puffs ( more than 37 yrs) by owner and his family. Located inside Kopitiam- the young stall owner is Friendly and not pretentious or bossy. They accept QR code to pay and cash. Constantly having small batches of pipping hot delicious curry puffs selling at $1.60 now. I “accidentally” paid extra using grabpay cos I heard the $amount wrongly and he immediately return me the difference in cash. The chix curry puffs are flavourful with egg , pieces of well marinated Chix and not very spicy. The puffs doesn’t have the “ oily” smell ( or other food smell) and u know that they dun re-use their oil — ~like other “branded” curry puff shop which fry many types of fishballs/different types of puffs/ Chix wings/ sotong legs and many more.
