Review Soi 55 - Singapore

Gillian Tay
It's like a ghost town, not a friendly welcoming place. I was early for the show, couldn't find any where to sit while waiting for it to start. Both the floors has huge empty space but no seats, such a waste of space, bad planning, all they had was 2 standing tables. I couldn't check out the shops because most are closed. Coming from real estate background this place is not well plan, no good flow/energy. In the cinema, the seats are comfortable but sadly there were only 3 pax watching. Lots can be done for improvement.

Review is for The Cathay Gallery. Not a big area and is free entry. Do pop by while waiting for movie to start. I bet the elders will definitely recall the fond memories as there are old movie poster and old cinema chairs for display. Many vintage camera for viewing too.

I went there after they announced the closing of this iconic cinema. It’s a nice mall that has failed to attract enough visitors. They really should have lowered the parking to $1 per hour or some really creative cheap parking scheme (like free 2 hour parking) to get people to go there to increase traffic. Better than closing down. But then, I may not know all the issues.

Pretty good place for simple dating, movies, cafe and some filmography history with Cathay family.

very suitable if you don't like crowded malls. they have a cinema upstairs.

It's not the most popular place, but it has an intimate and exclusive atmosphere not found in other more crowded malls. A good place to bring your friends to eat drink and chat for hours.

I love the shopping mall because it has everything I need in one place. It's easy to find what I'm looking for, and I can always find a good deal. I also like the atmosphere; it's always busy and there's something going on.

Bought a coffee from The Assembly Ground and was about to drink and was told off by the security guard, Geman, to put on my mask (when I am about to drink?) while finger pointing us throughout the way. What's worst, he was staring at me when he was saying that when I was drinking the coffee. When we walked out of Cathay, he continue staring at my group of friends. Being uncomfortable, we took a picture of him and he walked out and told us that we are not allowed to take a photo of the building as it falls under the media team. What a joke? - first of all, is he even allowed to stare at the patrons of the malls and finger pointing us? - if the mall have restrictions in taking photos of the building, why is there no signage of not allowing to do so? - is he even allowed to go outside of the building to question and demand the patrons to delete the photos? - it seems like it wasnt the first complain of this security guard on Google review. Update: Email corporate and Facebook message corporate but they just simply don't care/ignore. it's no wonder why there were repeated negative reviews for the same security guardgl that attacks patrons but the management just ignore it.

Love the Thai green milk tea, best I drank in Singapore. Better than Tuk Tuk Cha's milk tea. Too bad they don't serve food like Tuk Tuk Cha though.

Seafood tom yam really tasty, spicy and sour. The pandan chicken is so soft and full. Highly recommend, authentic Thai food SS15 branch

I love this so much. Especially the green thai milk tea. Couldn't have enough. But too few branches and I can only access it at The cathay which is also not a very convenient location.

Big disappointment. The taste was average only expected it to taste better since the review was good. Not worth the money. Prefer porns thai green milk tea over this. Need some improvement definitely

I love soi55 thai green milk tea but the amount of ice you guys put into the drinks are really too much...... only a few sips left with one full cup of ice.

I have around trying my love for Thai Ice Tea, mostly very diluted and no way near the traditional. Here I found it ! I can taste the fragance of the tea and the milk distinctly.

I am a Thai Milk Tea lover. This is my first time patronaged Soi55 at Golden Shoe to purchase a cup ice Thai Milk Tea. Disappointed they charged me $2.50 at this hawker location. Secondly milk tea not to the Thai standard; diluted & less fragrance. Need lots of improvement to survive to compete much nicer local milk tea at the hawker.

Its a awesome place to have a nice cup of Milk Tea

Milk tea so diluted and bland and yet they price it at $3.30. The milk tea from China Square way better compared to this.

It has always been a pleasure and joy to visit Soi55. However, I had an unpleasant experience at the Cathay outlet on 27th March 2016 2.45pm. My Friend and I were served by this male service crew. I ordered Thai green milk tea, however the staff insisted that I have ordered Thai milk tea. His attitude was rude and impolite, insisting that he was right and refusing to change the order. We decided to leave without arguing further as we were in a rush. However, I sincerely hope that soi55 can improve on their training of their service crew, and hopefully such incidents will not happen to other patrons in the future.
