Review Hararu Izakaya - Singapore

Food was not bad. Server was polite and attentive. Drinks are very expensive though. $4 for soft drinks. Went again with some friends. The manager (I presume) really was very patient and attentive in his service standards. A pity the young, unsmiling server was not as good. Just walked up and down, and did not take the initiative. Food was better this time. The spicy beef udon, unagi fried rice and beef salad were quite good. They do serve water, iced or warm. They also have a restroom which is acceptably clean. You can use fave pay here.

A very interesting place with a lots of food varieties to choose from, such as sushi rolls, rice dons, noodles, fried stuff and even self “hotpot”! Given that it’s halal, the menu is definitely impressive. For the meal, we ordered the Salmon Tan Tan noodle and seafood tempura. Both are delicious and worth the price! The noodle is cooked right and the broth is really interesting and good! There’s quite a lot for the seafood tempura too: two prawns, two mackerel(?), one salmon, one scallop. It’s good! The only downside I can think of is that there is no free water or tea, and the drinks are quite expensive, to be honest. But besides that, the food is good and there’s quite a bit of space despite coming in on a Saturday afternoon. Hope to try again!

The place was at first hard to find, but you should notice the entrance and the name of the restaurant, so you won't get lost finding it! It's clean and all the food... omg I honestly love them all! I'm a Muslim so it's a halal japanese food! I ordered the roasted lobster and tom yaam ramen. Man, it was exhausting that day and the ramen healed it already. The price is so-so, pretty worth the portion. But my problem is that the service is really slow. At first, we got the tab and ordered the food ourselves, it's pretty sophisticated but for the small portion of food it took forever! It needs to be improved, the service. Yet, the staff is friendly and quite responsive. If you want to get full here, you need a lot of money, just in case. :)

This was a little difficult to find (going to adjust the location pin on google map), but this isn’t why I’m giving only 3 stars. The upsides: nice environment, the seats outside are quiet enough to talk, wide range on their menu. The downsides: I ordered the chirashi because I had assumed it should taste the same as in a non-halal izakaya- while I would admit it was an interesting marinade, there were far too many pieces of pickles and too few pieces of sashimi for it to be worth the price. The rest of the grilled side dishes were largely too oily, and/or salty, even for an izakaya. To be honest, this wasn’t what I would expect for an establishment with 4+ stars. So I’m writing this, to give potential visitors some food for thought.

The interior and ambience of this place is great! :) Choose to seat on the second floor where they have the tatami style seating. The best dish we had was the beef ribs, it came with a special wasabi-tinged sauce. The unagi Don was good, but the rice was overcooked. Same goes for the beef soba noodles, the noodles were overcooked. However, the flavours of the broth was yummy! Overall, I would go back again, but I do hope they improve on the rice and noodles.

The food is decent. We got two drinks, grilled whole squid, Saba shioyaki, and mixed tempura. The cooking and services were extremely slow even though all other tables were about done by the time we got there. It took them 10-15 minutes to bring us the iPad for ordering food and drink. Another 10-30 minutes for the first to the last dishes to come out of the kitchen. We would like to believe that the establishment doesn’t like to serve non-local patrons despite their sweet welcoming words. You should read all other reviews before making decision if you are visitors like us. There are plenty of places to enjoy Izakaya on this island. There is no need to endure this type of service.

its got a really great vibe, but was disappointed with the food, or maybe my expectations were a little too high. the Salmon Teriyaki though, was really really good. prices here are reasonable too. might have to try this place again on my next visit, in the hope this first visit was just "one of those nights"

Over priced (especially its drinks) as it is banking on its already high ratings from Google. However, with its Halal Japanese cuisine in Singapore, it stands above an already crowded street full of restaurants with delicious food and an ambient atmosphere
