Review Big Mama - Singapore

Went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. Loved the seafood pancake - crispy around the rim and soft in the middle. The rice wine was yummy too. The chicken was slightly spicy and the fried rice was filling. Didn't give higher rating because prices are on the higher side and they make you pay for water.

Food were all great. Authentic Korean flavour by big mama. It was slightly pricey though. Highly recommend the Suyuk and Dakgalbi with fried rice! Also, I could see that they were shorthanded as the staff were rushing and panicking a little

Pretty legit Korean food. Can be a little pricey but standard of food is definitely there. Really enjoyed the Dakgalbi and Suyuk. Place isn't too big so it can get crowded during meal times even on a weekday. Luckily we made a reservation since it was a Friday evening because the place was packed.

Fully booked for Saturday dinner! But we got a late table at 8pm still. Very well stocked menu with the Korean favourites! We enjoyed the Fried Chicken, tasty beef, Bimbimbap, kimchi pancake, and their pork specialties ! For a truly authentic Korean food experience. Next to Tiong Bahru Plaza/MRT.

Big mama is a boisterous but warm lady- sometimes they may seem shorthanded but once you’ve made your order, the food comes swiftly. Everything was fresh and yummy..and she personally explained the dishes and the proper way of eating etc. No attitude was given when we wanted to cut cake and they immediately flew to clean our table and gave us clean plates and forks.. It can’t better than this can it? 💯

I really enjoyed coming here and was honestly shocked by how crowded it was considering it's a pretty quiet neighborhood. Since it's in Tiong Bahru, I would have expected more people to be hanging out at the cafes and not at a little Korean restaurant. I decided to visit because I've been dying to eat some Dak Galbi and Yoogane is no more in Singapore. A quick Google search placed this restaurant as the top choice so I had to visit! Service is pretty slow but they seemed understaffed so I wouldn't blame them. The nice ahjumma didn't speak a lot of English but pointing and smiling seemed to work just fine. Food was excellent!! The haemulpajeon was super crispy, probably one of the crispiest examples I've had in Singapore. The kalbi was fine, we got it as part of the set with the Dak Galbi. The Dak Galbi was delicious! Would have liked to add on the fried rice but it was so huge, we really didn't need more food. Out of sheer greed, we also ordered the fried chicken which was really delicious, crisp and light! The sauce was quite sticky and sweet though, so if that isn't your thing, be warned. The place was extremely crowded when we arrived at 1230 with a reservation so I would recommend making one. I would like to go back again to try some of their other dishes that I don't see commonly at other Korean restaurants in Singapore.

Came here on NYE and maybe they're shorthanded but the experience here was still great!!! Their food is authentic and they try their best to serve well. You know its good when you can also hear an ahjumma giving instructions to her staff. Food was really nice and did not take too long too. Would totally come again for the other dishes I did not get to try!

Ordered their set for 2 which was very worth since the portion was huge (we shared among 4 people actually) It comes with pork, kimchi jeon, spicy chicken. We added on the fried ricr afterwards. Especially love their kimchi pancake - so crispy and good!
