Oden was nice with a lot of variety since you can customise the ingredients. The mackerel and salmon bowl were very nice as well. Only thing is that the service was rather lukewarm. It was quiet and cosy on a Friday night which was surprising.

Came on a Saturday evening. Was pleasantly quiet. Staff were extremely accommodating as I came with a baby and they sat us at a table where there was ample place to park the pram. Food was surprisingly good. The grilled chicken sticks were tender and tasty. Grilled salmon head was excellent. Tempura was very fluffy and well cooked. I’ll definitely be coming back Update: Visited manpei again. Experience this time was much less pleasant. The accommodating young man who was there the last time was not there. The service staff this time were just automatons doing their job. Worst of all, I had made the booking using the eatigo app but had ordered too much. When I asked to pack the remainder of the food home, I was told I could not do so because I had used the eatigo app. Doesn’t make sense since I had already paid for whatever they served. Way to turn off a returning customer. Certainly won’t be going back considering Japanese joints are a dime a dozen

I would certainly recommend this place for a casual dinner with friends. This place is rather quiet and has a good selection of onsen and other food to go with your sake. Only complaint I have is that the salmon and roe rice wasn't as good as expected.

We had very good dinner here. Ordered $100 set meal. Free flow drink with white wine, high ball, and syochu Etc... A bit difficult to find the place.

New location bigger and nicer but lacks the cosiness of the old smaller, simpler place. Good oden. Not the cheapest Izakaya but will not break the bank.

This is an awesome place for casual Japanese food. Oden is good! Other finger food dishes are fantastic. Don't miss this place seriously.
