Review Hawkerman - Singapore

Open concept coffeehouse prices but quality of food and ambience is great - well decorated and clean with lovely decor it feels like having hawker or even better quality food in a restaurant but at much affordable prices!

Had two pan of pizza. A-lot of choices in one coffeeshop. Even tabao one char kway teow from Hawkerman. Well recommended for the choices. Will return for the others; rasa sedap seafood, mee bagus and nenda’s fritters.

Bought regular fried hokkien mee $4.50 to try 1st time. Portion is 1/3 rectangle container. Less if taste good is ok. Disappointed, below average standard . Appearance not appetising, suspected not individual fried as was ready quite fast. How to sell such food at this standard. You can find better ones at blk 79 Circuit Road at $3.50 and more portion, half container. Never buy again.

After dining at this restaurant, me and my fam had these few remarks about the food: Picture better looking than food; almost every thing has cheese and mayonnaise! Portion are too big! Bad point aside, let’s talk about the good points! Some of the food like the chicken cutlet and the garlic bread were super! Absolutely different from the usual type of garlic bread! The food all came quickly and the staff were polite and courteous. Would recommend this to people wanting a different type of fast food / hawker dinner!

The food used to be good at the SPC branch.

Service was so so.. had to help ourselves to the menu and even at the counter, everyone seemed to be busy with their tasks.. the food is hit-or-miss and requires an acquired taste bud because of their interesting western-eastern fusion dishes. Consequently, the price is ok in consideration of such unique offerings. All in all, a decent alternative makan place.

Good good good. Lovely hawker fare in a shopping mall. I understand it's part of the Tendefresh grpup. I love the Nasi Lemak. Something that we always order. It was of good value at less than $10. Look at the serving, it was generous! The signature platter was quite a big serving and priced at about $32 (quite pricey). The popiah (spring roll) and prawn noodle (with prawns and squid) were fairly nice. The place gets fairly crowded after 6:00 pm in the weekends. If you have a bigger family do arrive earlier. Enjoy!

Known for their 可爱鸡, happiness or lucky plate. Still the best after so many years. Thought their halal Hokkien mee is very good! Love how they introduce crispy chicken or chicken chop to their Hokkien mee, giving customers the options to have both fried chicken and Hokkien mee. Love the attractive fries options they have, chicken floss, nacho cheese and etc. The only thing that they may need to work on will be the time for the food to be served.

Starving at Singpost? Hawkerman’s here, with his hiong heroics against hunger in the heartlands! Beyond just sugar, spice, and all things nice, the core origin of Hawkerman's powers stems from the shiokful symbiosis of 3 time-honoured culinary establishments: Warong Kim's Hokkien Mee Tenderfresh Fried Chicken Ah Boy's Good Chance Popiah To experience the full force of this triple threat 'treatery' on our first visit, we called for the Bao Ka Liao platter (feeds 2 adult human specimens). On it were the hokkien mee, a half spring chicken, and popiah, among other creative treats like kimslaw (kimchi-infused coleslaw) muah chee balls, fried chicken in dual-egg sauce, XO carrot cake, and citrus plum watermelon. The quality of the three signature all-stars were surely on-point, while the sides rounded out the palate well enough. I like this place for the charismatic staff, fuss-free atmosphere, and tasteful furnishing. More importantly, pricing for the food has been well thought out. I will be coming to Singpost only for mails and meals, and I've a feeling I'll be seeing a lot of the mailman and Hawkerman.

It was an unpleasant experience dinning at HAWKERMAN. There were two of us any initially we want to order Chop chop hokkien mee $9.90 and would like to add noodle. Staff and chef said we have to order two set of the noodle. After ordering the other dishes (double yolk chicken $7.90, ah boy hokkien popiah $3.90, yuan Yang carrot cake $6.90, two drinks of $4 cashier staff recommend us to order the Bao Ka Liao set which was $32.90 stated served 2-3 person instead. When food arrived, the presentation was good (look nice) but there isn't enough space for us to place a plate in front of us while sharing the food. After dinning, we felt that it isn't worth the money to eat the set as the portion is very little. Please think twice if you are dinning here!!!

Bao Ka Liao is not worth eating. Mediocre at best. Cost $32.90 before GST. Poor representation of authentic hawker food. Hokkien mee - not flavourful, chicken skin rancid, lack of ingredients (only 2 prawns and some egg) Popiah - Chock full of raw garlic, overpowering the taste of other ingredients. Double yolk chicken - Chicken is processed food (frozen popcorn chicken that you find in supermarkets), egg yolk sauce bland and too milky (no curry leaf flavour though it is used in cooking) Kimchi-law - Taste neither like a good kimchi nor good coleslaw. Oil used to fry the mochi does not seem very fresh. Fried carrot cake - Major fail. Egg on the outside overcooked, rather than crispy. Taste nothing like authentic hawker ones. Tenderfresh chicken - many franchises elsewhere to buy from Bandung - Average Citrus plum watermelon was the only saving grace.

Tried the Bao Ga Liao set since was my first visit. All dishes taste pretty decent, but with no distinctive taste that makes Hawkerman unqiue. Of course the shop is a place that assemble several hawker food. But still i feel that a cafe or restaurant should have some speciality, own unqiue feel and taste. Hope to see some more creative dishes in future. One thing that I like to highlight for this dining experience is the ice coffee. The drink was so milkyyyy (and plain) that the ice coffee color looks like a cup of ice milk instead. I looked at the ice coffee (at least the color seems like so) at other table and returned mine to counter to reconfirm if he had forgotten to put coffee in. Well, he redo one cup for me. The color looks better but still taste like a cup of milk instead of coffee.

The lavender with white chrysanthemum tea mock tail was a total rip-off. No crushed ice. No garnish. Just a glass filled to the brim with ice cubes, and horror of horrors, the white chrysanthemum tea is from the Pokka bottled drinks, topped with a dash of lavender syrup. For calling it a mocktail they obviously feel it is justified to charge $4.90 for this. The hokkien noodles is worth a repeat visit but the chicken chop was average at best.

Arrived here with my fiancee for dinner and realised the place is full. The wonderful staff managing the floor appeared before us with a bright smile on her face and asked how many of us. Then proceeded quickly to arrange for a table for two for us. After we sat down and had our dinner, we observed that even if she is alone, she still manages to show every customer a bight cheery smile and arranged quickly for customers to be seated. Double thumbs up to your professionalism! :) And... the food is great too. We had the delicious La La Hokkien Mee and top it off with a cup of hot hot green tea. Two satisfied customers here! :D

I eagerly brought a guest, who has been away from SG for a while and misses local food, to try the food. While the food did not disappoint, the service left a very unpleasant aftertaste. It was a Tuesday late afternoon thst we paid a visit. There was no crowd. The cashier who took our orders was very condescending and not helpful in explaining what was not available on the menu. Not everyone is conversant with the system in the restaurant. Perhaps she has had a bad day. But a bad review is not gonna be good for your outlet. I hope this helps the establishment to review its customer practice.

Despite the crowd and the busy lunch hour, service was not compromised. My dad was on a wheelchair and they were very helpful. We didn't have to wait long to be served and the food were good. We will definitely return to try their desserts. Special mentioned to Ah Boy for the awesome service and hospitality.

Visited this place on their first day of opening. Couldn’t find the place, my friend and I went ups and downs before we could find the place but it was fine. The main issue is the experience during food ordering was a big disappointment.

Environment is nice. Likes the chicken floss with fries. The hawker food are interestingly put together though some lacks a bit more flavour. Chicken skin is nicely deep fried and crisp but meat needs more seasoning.

Went down on the first day. Service by cashier crew was bad, and floor staff answered questions regarding food before even making sure. On top of that, crowd wasn’t there at all as I went with my girlfriend around 7-8pm. Food was also quite subpar to be honest. Additionally, staffs also didn’t seem to understand English very well also

Some of the food like popiah, hokkien mee n kimchi. The honey glazed chicken is still not that juicy and a bit dry. The Mochi if plain one will be even better than fried mochi. The yam fries is abit disappointing.

Awesome food experience combining the best of everything into one. Bao Ka Liao is a must try. Durian n Jack Po Piah ice cream is also very nice.

It’s amazing on how one time can try so many Singapore authentic delicious food at Hawker Man. Impressed by the food as they still keep the traditional taste with new outlook. Definitely will come by again with guests and family. Thumb up!

Over priced for both food and drink. Food tends to be on salty side, drinks from Pokka range. No wow on the food taste.

Food was creative and portion was generous. Sure will drop by for another feasting to try their other dishes! Cheers!
