Review Drury Lane - Singapore

3.5 stars for this. The coffee has a nice roast and we like the salted egg yolk egg Benedict on brioche. But can’t say the same for the uni scrambled egg toast. Overall, a nice quaint place to enjoy your cuppa and toast.

A unique twist on my brunch staple Eggs Ben. Tried this creamy salted egg yolk eggs ben with grilled prawns and really enjoyed it. Liked their coffee too. The place was a bit busy but overall its a good place to hangout on a weekend.

The Banana Bread with Espresso Butter comes highly recommended, because, like life, it is both bitter and sweet at once, with a lightness of touch I can’t quite say for most banana breads. It’s rich and refreshing with a nice crumbly texture, and makes for a perfect pairing with any milk-based drink. You also can’t go wrong with any of their coffee options- my personal favourite is the iced mocha. For something heavier, word has it that its Salted Egg Yolk Eggs Benedict won’t disappoint.

Items on the menu are typical ones you'd find in many cafes. Food was decent and relatively affordable. Cinnamon bun was a tad bit too dense though. The place was not overly crowded during weekday lunches and is generally a nice place for a quiet lunch. One negative is that it got very stuffy halfway though lunch and made us pretty uncomfortable!

I have high expectations for this place after seeing the positive reviews. But perhaps the nice food are only the Benedicts and the coffee. We had pulled pork sandwich and pork collar rice bowl. Both were disappointing. Pork collar was tough, and there are egg shells in my eggs.. Coffee was good though.

Love this cafe's homely feel, although it could do with some updating. Menus are quite worn and wouldn't be expensive to replace. Second floor is a nice comfy place to sit at but the A/C doesn't work. But it didn't bother me to much. Food is decent to good - I had the eggs royal and Chili Crab Pasta. Al dente no less, and a great big pile of salmon. Definitely great value for money when compared to cafes in the same area, and I absolutely love the pay-as-you-wish muffin concept. Some power plugs and free WiFi - good for studying and doing work especially on weekdays where it's less crowded.

Visited today (a Sunday), placed orders at 2pm and was served our Egg Benedicts at 3pm. The hour-long waiting time was not at all worth it for the mediocre egg benedicts and beverages. Portions for coffee and food was small too. As for service, one of the waitresses was very polite and helpful. Another waitress offered zero help at all and seemed unsure of even where to point us to, to be seated.

the mocha was really good, but agree with the other reviewers - the inside is really quite warm and not a very nice place to chill and hang out. did not try the food, but would come back for the coffee. (around 6 dollars for a cup, on the expensive side)

I just love the laid-back chill vibe that this cafe has compared to other great study or hipster cafes with great Wi-Fi like Panopolis or The Loft Cafe just to name a few. Tucked away among a sea of small shophouses in Tanjong Pagar Road, it seems like a perfect hideaway spot for one of Singapore's best kept secrets. The food is above-average, love their salted egg benedict's though, that one is amazing. I always go there to get some work done on or catch-up on my fav TV shows on my lappy or just unwind, sit back with a hot or cold beverage. Overall, Drury Lane has slowly become my number one go-to place cafe in SG. Love it. Especially their wi-fi connectivity, oh my God. <3 :

Drury Lane serves nice brewed coffee and food. We ordered white set with banana bread which served with caramel butter cream, bacon&egg muffin, eggs benedict, last but not least, scrambled eggs toast. Satisfactorily enjoyed brunch in the weekends. Should go and experience it!!

My friend ordered the Brekkie Bowl ($12). Turned out to be too Sweet and no quinoa to be seen, just like an ordinary bowl of greens. I ordered the popular Salted Egg Yolk Eggs Benedict. The portion was WAYYY too small for a main that costs $17. Two little eggs in the middle of a large plate, could have served with a side of salad or something. Eggs Benedict was bland, unappetising. Salted egg yolk on top didn't have much salted egg yolk taste either. Shrimp was so-so, English muffin was also bland and soggy. Too disappointing. Finished the entire thing within 10 mins cause that's how small it was. I thought the reviews said this main was good, so I have no idea what happened. 10/10 will not visit again.

In our quest to find a decent breakfast place in Singapore: we tried this one and as expected disappointment once again. Said u could walk-in, but waitress was not really bothered. Dirty dishes left on one table at the entrance. Looked like it had been sat there a while.. We waited, but finally had to go to the counter to give the order. Saw across that the kitchen was dirty. Tea towels were more like rags. Being used for everything; walls with peeling paint, blackened marks and food spattering. The menu looks decent, good combinations but the actual execution is so different; portions are subpar. I asked for 2 plain eggs over easy - the waitress couldn’t understand. Asked the coffee maker who grunted with a sullen attitude. Eggs came served fully fried and it was $S8. Not value for money. Asked for pepper & salt for our eggs - they had only one set to go around 4 tables. The waitress was serving all the tables with her hair flowing free not tied up which is a hygiene violation. Asked fr 3 different smoothies : mixed berries, strawberries & orange and strawberries & bananas. They all tasted pretty much the same overlapping flavours. A lady walked in for a coffee and knocked over the glass on the table at the entrance. It took them about 5 mins to clear the broken bits and the manner in which the waitress used the dust pan and broom indicated she was a temp or inexperienced more there to add to the face value rather than anything else. All the the same it was a weekend so maybe during the week it is better. Naaaa; but i don’t think worth another look.

the portions were little for the prices charged and the tea wasn't as good as one expects from a premium pot. wasn't bad but wasn't anything to brag about either.

Food is pretty decent but service is very forgettable. The place is super child unfriendly and they do not have a single baby chair or child seat.

Personale gentile, cibo molto buono e genuino. Puoi comporre il proprio piatto e fanno un cappuccino ottimo.

The latte was not as good as it was used to be.. and they need to work on the cleanliness of the shop (show case and mirror with so many finger prints) for sure!

Disappointing visit. Food takes forever to arrive. And it come in different timing for me and my friends. Table that came after us had their food served first. i reckon the staff forgot our order. Some of the staffs were unfriendly. once is enough.

It would have been nice if they provided us the breakfast set menus (sets are cheaper)...

This place is good. I liked the food. Staff could be a lot more attentive. I had to run after one to tell her that I was still waiting for OJ an hour after ordering. One of the group didn't get the extra side they ordered and I was charged $2 for less than a quarter of an avocado. Happily go back. Hope the feedback is appreciated and acted on - what is bad is easily fixed with a little care.

Totally 'lack' of service & zero level of willingness to make you feel welcome. Not worth the wait.

I brought my friend from KL, Malaysia to visit your cafe last and we spent some great time chatting there without much interruption. While I googled for this cafe, I came to know a lot of people recommended this Smoked Salmon Sandwich and I wanted to give a try and gave my review. Indeed, it was great as per described by other bloggers or patrons. Everything was perfect for me except that the toasted breads were a bit too hard for me. It was nicely done, tasted good and looked pretty healthy. And, do not look down at its portion, as it was very filling after that.
