Review Super Star K Korean Bbq - Singapore

One of my favourite Korean bbq places in sg. Their cuisine is very authentic and staff are all Korean, we had the set menu A with all beef on this time. They have other sets that have chicken and other meats. Another favourite is the steamed egg which is fluffy and soft.

Went there with colleagues. Ginseng soup was nice. Steam egg was flavourful. Kimchi pancake was nice too. Had pork collar & belly. That's all we can stomach.

Authentic Korean BBQ - food a, ambience and great service. Try the hotpot omelette as starter and value set meals for family and group. Seve Makkoli in a traditional brass kettle and bowls .

A very korean feel deco. Good service as food are bbq for u by the shop assistants. Great taste food with alot of selection. Recommended super star set 2. You will be able to try out all 3 type of meat with steam egg (favourite), vegetables and mussels bean curd soup.

*Update: They may have taken out the lunch specials menu, it's no longer available and the regular price is pretty expensive for a weekday lunch so I haven't been back since. ): One of my favourite places to drop by for reasonably priced lunch. The spicy chicken bulgogi lunch menu special is one of the best I've had. I usually go alone and only order one item, but always received warm service and generously portioned side dishes. Became a regular now.

We're not big fans of Korean BBQ.. but came to satisfy a craving for BBQ pork jowl.. and found the place very competent (with its table top BBQ). Seems to be Korean owners (or management), and that makes it feel 'authentic' already ;) Overall, it was good, but did find the beef lacking the beefy taste though the marbling and texture were great. Both pork items were pretty decent, beef rib soup and salad were OK too. Had better spicy cold noodles. But we did feel slightly rushed by the server - so we probably finished in 40-45mins (despite a table full of items). But we don't blame them - it's their 2nd last dinner before the month long 'lock down' (again).

Ordered the beef and pork set along with kimchi pancake and japcha for dinner. Black pork taste so so, still have some pork smell. Not the usual black pork that I ate so far in Korean bbq restaurants. Beef texture was powdery and marination taste weird. Kimchi pancake portion are small and contain more of flour than kimchi. Steam eggs was pretty normal, japcha were too soft and portion is superb small as well... definitely not worth the money. I didn't know that the side dishes beansprots ain't made with large beansprots instead it's made with local beansprots. Disappointed that even the water is chargeable after the 2nd 500ml bottle. We are eye opened!!! Worse was....Half way thru the dining we found a hair in our pork belly, after feedback to the service crew there were no apologies at all. He just changed a new plate for my friend, that's all. We are so disappointed with the service level here. There is sure another better Korean bbq stall a stone throw away. Eat at your own risk! We understand that the food quality might not be the best, but the service is even worse. Surely we will Never come back again.

Visited superstar at 99 tanjong pagar road. This is the best outlet out of all the superstar Korean bbq I've been to. The food and service is really superfantastic! Best service I've ever experienced at a Korean bbq place. Food is cooked for you and standard of food is awesome! Service staff are all very friendly and gave the best service standard! Thumbs up to all the service staff here. Voice out to the boss for doing such a wonderful job of grooming and hiring the staffs here!

Waited for approximately 30 minutes (coz did not make a reservation) on a Friday evening, and thought about passing this place. But the service compensated the long wait. The female waitress was kind enough to lend a helping hand in grilling the beef rib and pork belly bulgogi for us. Price was slightly steep, but the banchan (side dishes) were not too bad, compared to other places. We also requested for extra servings of the banchan, which was acknowledged by the staff. All in all, it was a great experience here and worth a second time. To the team in Super Star K, keep up the good work! :)

Made a reservation for dinner on yesterday after getting lots of raving reviews from online. Reached the restaurant around 6pm and the place was not really full . The staffs doesn't look friendly and most of them worn a straight face, no greetings or whatsoever but it's fine, I'm not fussy about all this. Ordered army stew, bibimpap, steamed eggs and meats for BBQ. There were 6 of us but only 1 set of banchan were provided (quite pathetic). Fine, I guess this is norm for the restaurant and we weren't there for the banchan but for the rest of the food. Ordered 2 steam egg but only 1 were served so had to checked with the server and turn out only 1 order was made. So had to order another serving. And just when we are looking through the menu intending to order more meats for BBQ. Guess what? The server walk over n put the receipt on our table and walk away. Is this the way you serve your customers? What are you trying to do by putting the receipt on the table? We are not even finish with the food!! So you are trying to hint the customers "Please settle the bill and get lost?" This is the 1st and my last time patronising your restaurant. I think there are tons of korean BBQ restaurants out there in Singapore and it's not my loss. You should train your staffs on what's good customer service. The staffs get paid and customer pay for the food so why should we bear with their bad attitude? What benefits does the staffs get if the restaurant close down when there are no business?

I was expecting more and i was so excited sence i was in vacations in Singapore. We get there ... Normal place, but the food ... I wasnt bad, some were cooked, cold and vert hard to eat, i said to the staff that my meat was to hard to eat ( i was very kind saying that to the staff), she give me bed eye contact and went to the kit hen with a new dish, but it was the same ... WORST!... The meat was so hard that i didnt eat anything and the same for my family.. When we get out of the restaurant we end up eating mcdonalds

Past few years been a regular and everything was good. The pork was different from other places, there is sweetness and it was of the right size and thickness. Today went there and realised a lot has changed. The walls have changed and you can't write stuff there anymore. Side dishes are different and taste different. The pork was very disappointing today. There was a certain smell to it. When I asked, they said they are now serving local pork. No sweetness anymore. Was there a change of the owner(s)? Sad that they had to cut costs and there goes a good Korean BBQ place I used to recommend a lot. It is the ONLY Korean BBQ place me and my family would go..

Worse service ever. Waitress rolled her eyes when I told her to wait for my mum to decide what she wanted. Shifted my plates while I was eating to suit to her convenience while she was grilling the meat. Shifted the leftover meat on the grill to my plate to clear the grill(like I was here to rush through my meal). Removed the grill but had to go over my shirt which was on the chair next to me so ashes dropped on my shirt. Crazy ass start to my off day. Only came because it was pretty nice a place to chill with my mates on a previous occasion. Will never come again. And the place was not even full or packed.

I was supposed to meet my friend at Super Star K Tanjong Pagar outlet at 7:30pm yesterday and I reached early so I can put the birthday cake (a surprise for my friend) without my friend noticing. I didn't make reservation and there were empty tables without reservation tags still. When the waiter was about to show me to the table, the Singaporean manager (featured in the video doing the "bomb" stunt at this Facebook page) asked the waiter to ask me to leave my name & contact number at the iPad placed outside the restaurant. I was stunned. Nothing about this policy is shown at the door, 1st time ever I experience this kind of system at a Korean BBQ Restaurant. Did the management changed? My Korean ex-managers used to patronize when the management was Korean. They wouldn't implement something like this. You rather let your customer(s) wait in the hot weather when there are available seats?? I would have understand if the restaurant was full or queue outside the restaurant but no. I went to the cafe next door and waited for my friends. They came 15 minutes after I left my name at Super Star K's ipad queue system(when there was NO QUEUE). Went back to Super Star K and we were being seated immediately, with some empty tables still. 3 of us rrdered 2 servings of pork, 1 serving of beef ribs and 1 kimchi pancake. We appreciate for the service of helping us to grill the meat but no thanks to the lightning speed cooking. We felt like we are being rushed to finish our food so we can leave soon. We thought we were in the real-life "Diner Dash". It would be good to pause a while and let the customers enjoy the meat before cooking another portion of meat. When we still have some meat on the grill, someone came and wanted to remove the charcoal. Side dishes and lettuce are chargeable after certain number of servings?? Which Korean restaurant do this?? This is the first time I hear that!! This is a Sorean BBQ place (Singapore style Korean BBQ). Side dishes tasted "meh" and not authentic too. Meat and kimchi pancake tasted average too. We finished everything in less than an hour. Like 40~45mins. We could eat much more slowly even at normal Korean BBQ buffet restaurants at lower price. I decided to give my friend the birthday cake at the cafe next door instead. It would be our first and last time here. The current management is too calculative and stingy. We could not enjoy the food at all. Our worst Korean BBQ experience.

One of the better ones in Singapore. Agree that the service staff need more training in customer service. They weren’t outrightly rude but u wouldn’t want to look at their grumpy faces. Overall, good food and I will be back for more.

The food was alright, a girl with tattoos gave very good service and cooked for us. Tattoo girl was attentive and hard working. But, we ordered a lot and I was taking my time to finish my food, the cashier (fat lady with nasty attitude) came over with the bill and asked us to pay up, she said there's people queuing outside. We paid up and left soon after because I was getting full, but my food had a quarter portion to go, I had lost my appetite due to the horrible fat lady. As we left the tattoo girl thanked us for visiting, but the fat nasty cow gave a cock stare. I won't visit again because I was urged to pay up and leave while still eating. Crap service because of the fat lady, no one should patronize this place.
