Review Post Bar - Singapore

Amy Chan
Post bar at the Fullerton organizes a Latino night on the 1st Saturday of every month . It is a night for guest who love Latin dancing ; salsa , bachata and kizomba ...etc . Guest pays only $20 nett for entrance with 1 standard drink . The bar is classy yet has a relax atmosphere . But the disappointing part is where we are not able to make reservations . Was told by the staff we have to pay covers to secure the table ...ie if I have 10 person ..I will have to pay in full before they can secure the table for us. I was there early and asked for a table for 8 they seated me at the long table but later as me to move and actually put a reserve sign on the table . Not sure if the staff is just making it up to get me to move as someone called at the last min for a large table :(

Very warm and relaxing atmosphere in a private environment. Came here twice during happy hour. Good service quality and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The Margarita pizza & Singapore sling is a must try!

Was there to celebrate my birthday but this place ruined it. Horrible service by the staff as we had to repeat ourselves many times and service was really slow. We ordered a platter to share and thankfully we didn't order more. Food was horrible and not even worth that price! Harry's bar has nicer snack than them!

As a poor intern many years ago, I remember coming here for ladies night. They give free tidbits. Great memories

This is a classy bar, and a good place to hang out if you're in the area. They have a lot of interesting drinks and it is a pretty relaxed environment. They also have TVs, so you can watch sports (except not cricket, which is odd). Service is decent but not great, and you usually have to flag aggressively to get the check. But it is definitely worth a try.

Classy, always a great place for drinks with friends. There's some cozy corners for the ladies to sit around without being bothered much. Bartenders knows how to whip up a delicious drink. Also, around the F1 period, there will be screens showing the whole event and lots of guests having their festive fun. Enjoyable place.

Lovely place for an evening drink. You can enjoy the gorgeous surrounds of the old building. Look at the roof above the bar to see the original roof from before the restoration. Drinks here are nice. They serve complimentary snacks to go along with them too, which is nice.

For those who have not read my review under Fullerton Hotel, this review is separate from my hotel stay and has nothing to do with the rest of the staff I encountered during my stay. I booked The Fullerton Hotel to celebrate my husband and my birthday. When we checked in the hotel, we brought along the birthday cake which we bought from Glace. The Fullerton Team was very service oriented and volunteered to help keep our cake in their fridge - I think not many hotels do this. We waited till it was close to midnight and invited all our friends to come for the celebration at Post Bar ( as it would disturb other hotel guests if we did it in our room). The in room dining team gladly obliged to help send the cake to Post Bar instead of our room so that we do not have to carry it here and there. This is where the unpleasantness started, after we ordered our drinks and started taking the cake out of the box, Josephine from Post Bar approached us and told us we cannot celebrate there. If we want, we have to do it in the room.( what about disturbing other guests right?) When we asked why did the in room dining team still send over if this is not allowed, she just replied saying this is hotel policy, you cannot bring your birthday cake here. Her standard replies without listening to us embarrassed us in front of our guests and the whole incident was starting to turn ugly when she said " even if you ask to see my manager, he will tell you the same thing". After I told her, my birthday is already ruined and i will just leave a negative review, then she brought her manager out. I had to explain the same story to him again before waiting a good 15 minutes for him to say yes, you can cut the cake and eat the cake there. Here are a few puzzling points she said: 1. You cannot celebrate in this hotel with a cake from another place (what if your guest like a cake from a specific bakery?) 2. You can put the candles and cut the cake but then you cannot eat the cake 3. Sign the indemnity form and agree that even if you have any mishap after dining at Post Bar, you will not hold them responsible. 4. Cut the cake and eat the cake in the room (doesn't that still violate your hotel policy?) Come on, I just wanted to celebrate our Birthday with the cake of our liking. Rules are rules but I am sure there are exceptions to achieve service excellence and a 5 star worthy guest experience.

My husband and I went there for happy hour on saturday at 5.30pm. The waitress said happy hour one for one beer. So we order that. Unfortunately upon paying the bill stated $42++ for 2 pints of beer. What kind of happy hour is that? Turn out they said cannot sharing. So turn out we have another 2 pints of beer (which they never give to us). It will be advisable for the service staff to explain clearly to customers because I do not want to drink 2 pints of beer just before dinner time. I rather just order 1 cocktail (also have promo for happy hour). Then I ask them for the 2 pints of beer (since we already paid for it). It is not my first time there but definitely will be my last time. Dissapointed with the service.

The service at the milonga this week at Postbar was so much faster than before. Seemed like change of staff. No smiles but fast service. That was noted n fast service was much appreciated though the bill for food came before the food! We refused to pay till the food was placed before us. Overall very enjoyable.

Service was good. Had no problem with it. When the bill came, that's when we were alarmed. We were charged $395 for a bill that was supposed to be $249. I don't think it was a silly mistake. A glass of wine $19 turned into a bottle of wine at $98. 2 shots automatically turned to 3 shots which costed 66 instead of 44. And 2-3 extra cocktails added to the bill just for fun. May be they thought, we will be too drunk to remember anything. Guyz please be careful and check you bill before leaving POST BAR. Highly disappointed.

Seriously underwhelming experience if you want to chillax. Bad music. Cold interior. Poor drinks. Won't be doing that again.
