First dining experience at Gyoza Ya @ Heerens
Food was good! All in small portions and easy for sharing.
Gyoza was lovely. Garlic fried rice was very garlicky so that's good. And the soy chicken was not too bad with a scope of egg mayo.

I would prefer the outlet of Gyoza Ya at Robinsons Building. Not a fan of garlic but when once my friend intro me to this garlic rice, I was surprised that it tasted so good. The portion is small so usually I will order their famous gyoza which is the original one and the cheese one.

I have eaten here many times and their food quality are consistent in this Hereen outlet which is quiet n cozy. They serve one of the best gyoza in town, value for money. I also like the seafood ramen, the broth is flavourful, order the spicy one when a big table spoon of their home made spicy mince is added onto the broth. Lastly, their yuzu hot tea is worth ordering that goes well with all the food.

Here is the good. Service was fast my order was taken within minutes. Amazingly no crowd at 1340, maybe due to year end holidays, and everyone travelling. Still good, the quality of the ramen and broth was great, as was the gyoza. Very authentic. Now the really bad that messed up the whole dining experience. I ordered the Tempura Ramen Set which had 3 components a small bowl of ramen, 3 gyoza and a small dish of 4 pieces of tempura veg. The ramen came in 5 min, but a 15 min wait for the gyoza, and another 10 minutes beforen I started typing this post and at the end of this........ the tempura is still nowhere to be seen....... And yup I mentioned earlier right? No crowd. Just 4 occupied tables in the outlet that could seat.... let me count. 80 pax maybe? Will post this now..... you guessed it, tempura still not here. Sigh.....
Review Update: tempura came, from order to final component 30 minutes. Like I said no crowd. Quality.... above average. See picture of empty dishes. So pity on the food to table time taken, this alone makes we have second thoughts on coming back..... Will give it a few months to see if management picks this up.

The quality of the food keeps getting lower and lower with each visit. The gyoza was all chunked together, over burnt and yet not hot but only warm. Suspect they took out the gyoza from the freezer and then pan fry at high heat. The service is also slow, took 10 minutes for gyoza to be served and 15 minutes for the salad with salmon to be served. There was no customers in restaurant during time of visit. The salad was very cold, which means it just came out of freezer. They pour so much soya sauce on the salad till it was salty till bitter taste. Disappointed with the food from this chain of restaurants. Not visiting anymore.

The Gyoza was wonderful and the meat was tender. It wasn’t very oily as well. Really good! However, service was bad and slow even though there were only 2 other tables at the restaurant and a total of 6 staff working.

Reasonably price, good comfy setting. However I find the food on the saltier side. Ordered fried rice and gyoza. Oh service is good!

A secret hideout where you get good food at affordable prices. Good place to get away from the Orchard crowd.
