Review Victor's Kitchen - Singapore

Eric Lee
Well hidden old school dim sum eatery on Level 1. It’s like a food street with so many restaurants to pick from but my favorite is always Victor’s Kitchen! Their dim sum is old school and they use really good ingredients. A must try is the XO Carrot Cake which looks nothing like carrot cake when served! But beware, ice water will set you back $1 a glass!

The staff is very nice and the dim sums are solid. The only groundbreaking dish are egg yolk golden lava buns - try them for sure. On the side deep fried carrot cakes with thousand island sauce are really captivating.

Crowded and cramp environment, feels like those busy dim sum eateries in HK. Usually an indication of good food. Chee cheong fan is good, esp the pan fried one. Very interesting. Glutinous rice was so-so. I've had better in other places. Overall satisfying for the few dish we ordered. Will be back to try other items on the menu

Located in sunshine plaza amongst other foodie, street-like stalls in an old shopping plaza.. it is one of those stalls that have survived for years despite the ever-changing landscape of food stalls around it.. a rather big Cantonese-like Hong Kong dim sum cafe with really nice and tasty dim sum everytime I'm here. You can tell by the photos I cannot be bothered to take every dim sum cuz I rather be eating. This place is bigger than their newer outlet at Chinatown. Price is certainly not tt cheap but I personally think it is worth it and idm supporting vintage, food businesses... If only they can catch up with times with more flexible orders like no/less sugar milk/ying-yang tea/coffee.

I think is handmade and fresh compared to other dim sum store i rated before. This one everything is NICE, big and juicy! 👌🏻 Satisfying ☺️ Authentic HK dim sum. Quite skilful chef, those dishes with pork, the pork is not smelly at all, instead it is so yummy and fresh (FYI, I am very sensitive to smelly pork😰). Hao liao 好料! Is a Hidden gem 😉 But weekend you gotta queue. The queue quite fast though, We (6persons) went there around 12pm queue 15-20mins. Would recommend to go in 2, sometimes can skip queue ! 😄 The lava egg yolk custard bun is a must try ! The best I’ve ever tried in SG. We tried more than 10 dishes, all hociak lor. 😋 will be back again with other group of friends.

Tiny shop in a building that I would probably would not have visited if not for food. Shop was no frills and casual but food was of good quality and value for money. Like the siew mai and polo bun. Chilled milk tea and yuan yang were on point too in terms of taste and texture

Came at 1030am (right when the shop opens) on a public holiday and there was already a queue formed outside with the restaurant almost full. Ordered the fish and century egg porridge which the (very energetic) auntie recommended but it was a little disappointing. The porridge was a little lacking in flavour. The portion of century egg was pretty generous though, but the fish came with bone so be careful if you’re ordering for small children. The other dishes we ordered were much better! The Xiao long Bao was nice and steamy with quite a bit of tasty soup. Each Bao is pretty big and meaty compared to the ones you generally find in dtf/ paradise. The carrot cake with XO sauce was really good too. Actually the Xo sauce is just really good, just a tinge of spiciness and it seems to go well with everything. It paired nicely with the carrot cake which was soft and moist and it also flavoured the porridge well. They also served the fried Cheong fun with the Xo sauce. On first look the Cheong fun looked a little disappointing and even a bit burnt but surprisingly it was full of wok hei. Portion size was also just nice. And of course the Liu sha Bao is a must eat!!! Not the cheapest place for sure but this place really provides good food so I guess it’s value for money? come early unless you’re willing to wait in line.

Had an early dinner here on a Monday evening. It was half full. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place was simple but clean. I ordered the fish porridge, prawn chee cheong fun n HK milk tea to dine in and got siew mai and har gao for takeaway. My food came fast. The prawn chee cheong fun was really delicious and the prawns were fresh. I love the gravy they used- and added it to my fish porridge. I liked how the HK milk tea wasn't too sweet and smelled really like those in HK. The fish porridge came in a really small bowl- I think it's meant more as a light snack so that you'll order more dim sum after that. There were only 4 tiny pieces of fish in it. Wouldn't recommend it as the portion is small and it's very mediocre. The har gao and siew mai came packed piping hot and was larger than I expected. Would def come here again to try other food. I almost forgot my bag and the staff were friendly and attentive to alert me.
