Restaurant have bright view and refreshing feel. Not exactly a cosy feeling and chairs are not cushion so might feel a bit like kopitiam/ hawker feel.
Ala carte buffet and order is by scanning qr code and order by your own mobile phone. Take note that last order is 9.15 strictly since ordering is done via system.
Food came in 5-10mins but not piping hot, just warm and that’s probably the reason the food didn’t taste exactly fantastic. Portion is small but just right for tasting since u can always order again if you like it.
Have about 6 category ranging from appetizer to main course, bbq, vegan, dessert. Drinks are not part of the buffet (only house tea and coffee is)
Worth mentioning are the seafood platter (fresh prawn and mussel), the pumpkin soup, the durian penyet, the lobster noodle and laksa.
Good for gathering, with free complimentary parking, and helpful and nice uncle guiding the parking, also the friendly staff.
Lovely location, ambiance and well designed interior. The food are tasty, some are nicer than others. Will highly recommend the Satay (chicken and mutton), the grilled king prawns, curry puff, beef rendang, chilli crab with mantou. Not a huge fan of the cold seafood. The sushi 🍣 and sashimi was decent. For cakes, I will recommend the cheese cake. 👍🏻

Great staff and service! Their call centre erroneously took my reservation for high tea today. Seems the restaurant already stopped serving high tea long ago. Nevertheless, the staff did not turn us away but instead spoke to the Chef who so kindly said they will recreate and prepare the high tea set for us! The food was 👍 and presented beautifully. THANKS AGAIN for the great experience!
Ginger at Parkroyal, Beach Road. Great ambiance & service. You have a choice of enjoying a buffet or A La Carte.
We had the:
Chicken Wings (crispy shrimp paste chicken wings served with tangy chilli sauce). It’s yummier while having it’s pipping hot. It crunchy and not oily.
Crispy Chicken Chop. Tenderising plus flavourful. A grilled boneless chicken marinated with Ginger chef’s special sauce. Served with a side of fries, baked beans, coleslaw & garlic bread.
Crispy Chicken Cutlet, deep-fried chicken thigh with seasoned bread crumbs. Served with a side of fries, bake beans, coleslaw & garlic bread.
You can either order few A La Carte to share with family or friends as the serving is gracefully huge! Price wise, I would consider it’s affordable. While waiting for our food to be served I had a quick browse at the buffet. It was a temptation! Perhaps the next round we will opt for the buffet. Remember to rsvp before heading down! For all our Muslim friends, Ginger is halal 😊
Excellent service, and I can see that they try to be varied in the menu but food quality is not up to par with the cost during peak season. Probably usual times would be more worthwhile with membership discounts. Felt theres quite a bit of MSG. Love their sambal at the start though. And the durian pengat at the end.
Had the buffet lunch on a Saturday, really impressed by the Peranakan touch in the cuisine & decor! We loved the very lemak laksa the most, it’s a must-try! We liked how the dishes (including mains) are mostly served in small portions which helps us to conserve precious stomach space to share & try a greater variety of their food! The pastries are also very well-done (our lucky day - we had the durian green bean puree & chendol ice cream during our visit). Do watch out for their ongoing promos which makes it very worth to have a good buffet lunch in a nice garden setting.
We indicated in the reservation that we are celebrating a birthday & were surprised with a nice small cake. Special shout-out to commend service staff Ms Zi Hui who was very attentive & professional, and went the extra mile to ensure that we got what we needed. Most of the staff are very helpful too despite being super busy.
