Review Toriyard - Singapore

I love how the outdoor seating makes you feel that you are enclosed with the greenery and you do not feel like u are in a park. food was average but we like how the staff listened to the feedback we gave to Cook the chicken liver a little less done. and they managed to perfect it ! special shout out to the staff Sam (sum) whom managed to salvage a situation we encountered while dining. he also has good knowledge in the sake there and was able to recommend to us. would definitely visit them again.

Cozy place for gathering with friends and family. Surprisingly the skewers tasted quite good, although the price is slightly expensive than those Japanese food you can found in town like orchard area. Best to go if you’re looking for job-crowded place for lunch. Definitely can give a try if you’re looking for beers and wine at night. 🌸🌸

Came here in the afternoon and had the set lunch. The pork and ginger is recommended. It comes with a soft boiled egg which when poured over the rice really makes the dish quite nice. Prices are on the high end. It is set in a park and there is ample parking nearby.

The dinning environment is unbeatable. Surrounded by greenery. We were greeted by the guy restaurant manager during lunch and he was very friendly always served with a smile. Typical Japanese set lunch that you can find elsewhere, I feel their food is rather average but all their service and environment save one star. And Their complementary dessert is nice.

First of all, amazing alfresco setting. My partner and I went during weekend lunch and fortunately it wasn’t that crowded. Able to enjoy the peace and nature in a well-ventilated place. I like how the restaurant is well maintain and there’s a small washing area with soap and sanitizer for those who were in the outdoor seats area. I only see 2 service staff during our visit. Not sure if the restaurant is understaffed because you need some patience to get their attention at times. Otherwise no complain about the service. Food wise, the price is definitely on the much higher side and we were glad that the food quality and taste justify the price paid - except the dessert. Simple cake, ice cream and sweet red bean cost $15++ which I thought it’s way too overpriced. 2 simple appetizers, 2 assorted plates and a dessert set us off slightly above $100. Overall it was a satisfying meal. Maybe will come back again for the ambience and to try the sake and beer.

Great ambience and impeccable service. Food is above average but not the type that makes you feel like you must come back again, especially because it is slightly pricey. Really enjoyed the wagyu don - the wagyu was super tender and the rice was well flavoured. Skewers and sushi weren't anything to shout about tbh. Loved the tartness of the cheesecake.

Brought my mum to celebrate Mother’s Day at Tori Yard. While the food is on the pricier side, as per all Japanese restaurant, the quality of food is worth the price. The cold soba was surprisingly good (my guess it’s handmade due to uneven strands of noodle). The sashimi is fresh and thick cut too. The waiter forgot our sushi order, so we waited quite a while. We were pleasantly surprised when he served us free cups of tea for keeping us waiting. Unfortunately the sushi was abit underwhelming. While it tasted not bad but we preferred the traditional kind as compared to this new creation that has a crisp batter. Overall, it’s a nice place to catch up with delicious food.

Had a family dinner here to celebrate the start of Q3 and Q4. Ordered sashimis, agemono, sushi (salmon and tuna) based on the wait staff's recommendations. Food were fresh, really delish and service is good. Ambient is also very apt for a nice chill family time. What stood out? The yellowtail collar, stingray fin, house sushi, wagyu don, and kurobota pork. Really had a great time. Feel relaxed and ready for the work week again.

Hello, Wow, I m completely wooed by Toriyard ! Great Food, Great Ambience & Great Service! Set amidst lush greenery, with easy access ( with car park right at door step ) & can even watch the famous Bishan otte family swim by , ( without the hustle & bustle of town, minus its expensive parking !) , i enjoyed v much the wonderful company of my friends at Toriyard ! The staff were most attentive , our cups ( including our stomachs ) were never empty plus they even walked you to your car with umbrellas in the slight drizzle ! Some of the foods are pretty innovative - the staff knows the ingredients & introduce the making of the food well- absolutely delicious & non-oily at all ! I will not hesitate to recommend to my friends & relatives to have their private functions there ( you should have seen the glass private room ) including wedding solemnisation, a perfect spot ! Toriyard - pls keep up the good works!

Excellent dining experience. Felt really welcomed here, staff greeted us as we entered the restaurant. They have a wide range of yakitori choices here and our favourite was the chicken thigh! Prices for the food are justifiable as the meat was all very fresh! Another unique thing is that the restaurant offers 11 different sauces and condiments to go with your yakitori. The waiting time for the yakitori when the restaurant was crowded was a bit long but understandable as the food was being cooked to order and it was flavoured by the smoking process which was very fragrant. The ambience was amazing and the restaurant in general is very 'Instaworthy' if you can get the right angles. Great place to hangout/chill with friends over some pretty decent food! We will definitely return again :)

The restaurant is dropdead gorgeous, embedded in the middle of Bishan park’s nature. The yakitori skewers are incredibly unique in taste and it’s definitely something you can’t easily find in other yakitori joints in Singapore (recommending the premium platter). The uni foie gras cocktail, its signature appetizer for $17, is also worth its hype because of how delicious the combination is. However, the bad... visited on a weekend night and unfortunately crowded. Full house restaurant, waited around 45 minutes or so for the food. Also pretty noisy inside the restaurant so it was hard chatting with my husband during the waiting time. Ordered a Kaisen don for myself, but would not order again because value-for-money is not there. But I don’t blame them because their specialty is the yakitori. My husband was also kind of a wet blanket because the aircon we were sitting under was dripping water on his head occasionally, lol. But he didn’t want to move. Overall we were charged $87.10 and left feeling kind of hungry kind of unsatisfied for the price. Wanted to get McDonalds after hahaha. I would probably come back to try its weekday lunch promotion though. But the crowd and price for the weekend is definitely not for me!

ToriYard is a gem in the heart of Bishan Park. The staff are friendly and inviting, rendering excellent service. They make it a point to get to know you well as diners. Food-wise, there is a wide range of delicious yakitori and classic Japanese side dishes. The condiments, particularly the chilli with garlic flakes, are a treat. And yes, the range of sake is fabulous.

Kaizen Salad to start was very appetizing! Skewers were all delicious especially the chicken and leek, asparagus and pork belly, eggplant with miso, mushroom... wagyu don a favourite and the sea salt ice cream was a perfect ending!

Not worth a single cent spent .. so expensive yet food standard not up to expectations (worst yatori ever tasted ) ... not only food , service also lousy .. keeping asking to service water but till we made payment also not be served really over rated

Food is average. Not quite worth compared to the price of food. Finished my food with no water served even though i asked for water 4 times. Overall, disappointing.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Staffs were polite. Food quality was good. Enjoyed the Wagyu fried rice, chicken thigh and pork & asparagus. We had green tea Chiffon cake with mochi & ice cream for desert, which was delicious.

I'm pretty regular here, sometimes coming 2+ times a week. At first I thought it was a recycled sushi bar- but when I tried the skewers and Don my stomach went "wah lau shiok-ness" ! There is attractive space for you to take selfies if you are a cam-whore, but also some private spaces for you to chill. The staff is very pleasant and attentive, *salute* to Nesh the manager, as well as other kool conversation-alists, who have to put up with my fellow demanding singaporeans, as the place becomes more popular ; )

Staff were friendly, food was awesome, ambience was great. Just one thing, very expensive! But with the quality of the food, I’d say it’s worth it :)

Cozy place to chill out with friends...excellent service provided. Though it’s a tori place but would be great if some sushi & sashimi is added into the menu.

Had high hopes based on the menu and surroundings. Unfortunately, we really have to wait more than 30 mins for our set of yakitori... what is worst is the food was served like warm to cold.... only thumbs up is the service provided by the staff..
Lim Kimee
food - not fantatsic. price - too ex ambience - v good i ordered kaisen don - $25 teppei at ION is much better... way better yakitori - per stick ard $4 (min).. not worth it.
KyungSoo Yi
Their lunch menu us excellent and it is a great place to dine.

This is a yakitori restaurant but be prepared for the long wait as they are not experienced enough to handle the volume of orders for the grilled sticks. We waited 35mins for our first stick of yakitori to be served, and the remaining 3 sticks took another 30mins. Total more than an 1hr of waiting. So come only if you’re ok with the wait. Food is mediocre.
