Review Two Chefs Eating Place - Singapore

Busy place on weekends but the waiting time is reasonable. Staff take your order quickly and the kitchen moves fast. Generous portions so ordering small for noodles/rice is more than enough. What to order? 1) Butter Pork ribs or Coffee Pork ribs Pricing is reasonably done around 20 or less for a large portion good enough for family of 5. 2) Horfun is alright for a staple. Or order the tofu dish with enoki for those who love to slurp up some rice with tofu. What's not so nice... Skip the fried "Malay" spicy noodles...not spicy not quite tasty. Overall reasonable price and food.

Visited on a Wednesday late afternoon and the place was rather quiet. There was a short queue to order but service was very efficient as it moved rather quickly. Ordered the milk powder pork ribs with rice and there was a faint sweet smell. The pork ribs were well prepared, wasn't too tough. It was a mix of sweet and savory, but wasn't too cloying. As I came alone, I didn't order other dishes to go with my meal. So the rice was rather dry. Overall, I would recommend only if you are in the area. I would not specially go down for the milk powder ribs.

Looking for a safe and clean Zi Char place, popular in the Commonwealth area? It’s Two Chef’s which has been serving their signature dishes like the milk powder pork ribs, and fish slice hor fun. Always a good crowd dining in or for take away. Menu is very wide ranging and they have just about any dish you are craving. Enjoy!

Overall food was kinda average. 1. Hot plate tofu (铁板豆腐): can taste the wok hey. 2. Chinese spinach with 3 eggs: tasted quite bland. 3. Cereal prawn: personally my fave out of the 3 dishes, but nothing out of the ordinary. Had the option to come de-shelled. Plus point was we could find a table pretty quickly on a Friday night. A pity that we didn’t try the milk powder pork they’re famous for.

Heard a lot of raves about it. So ordered via phone to takeaway. Packaging were decent and service OK. Ordered the fan favs like the milk pork ribs, etc. Dishes were average, even, forgettable, unfortunately. Only worth mentioning was the fried yam. Perhaps it was the long interval due to the takeaway. Definitely not worth the trip down from Woodlands.

Food was decent at best, including their supposedly signature dishes. The three eggs spinach was the worst - tasteless with so little century and salted eggs, and vegetables were too fibrous. San lao hor fun was bad too - meagre ingredients and too much cornstarch. The enoki tofu was passable. Everything seems to be precooked as they were served too quickly. Staff were friendly though. Apparently, the famous drunken blood cockles are no longer available.

Price is reasonable but the taste & quality of food quite normal. Simple and can find in any Zi char stall. Total we paid $130+ inclusive of chill crab for 6 person.

A long-time favourite for those in the neighbourhood and a little beyond. Things are way more competitive these days, with lots of choices for good tze char places, but this place has its own nostalgic charm amidst an old HDB area, and the food menu favourites still delight the tastebuds of regulars. I popped in to have a simple hotplate beancurd with rice and wasn't the least bit disappointed.

Came to check out this rather well known zhi char shop. We came at 5 pm plus to skip the queue. The drunken cockles and butter ribs are two of their signature dishes and tasted quite unique. Very affordable pricing, no wonder there is such a crowd by 6 pm.

Went to the outlet at Sin Ming for lunch. Parts of my order are sambal fried rice and salted fish fried rice. Portion given for fried rice are not consistent. Sambal fried rice was given much alot where salted fish fried rice are little. We point out to the assistant but she choose to ignore. Compared to the staff and service given where they used to locate at blk 409 Sin Ming Drive, big big lose out. Truly disappointed.

Very delicious food and the wait is worth it...most zi char service is not good...most important is food must be good.. "Two Chefs Eating Place" in Commonwealth Crescent is good and worth waiting...keep up the good job in making good food for me and the rest of the people who goes to ur place to eat.

Today, 18 June 2016, my family and I visited Two Chefs' Eating Place at Commonwealth for the first time and it was a horrible experience. The food was not tasty at all. The garlic stir fried sweet potato leave was literally covered with lumpy starch. The drunken prawn gravy was diluted. The herbal chicken soup was too oily. The beancurd with golden mushroom was similar to the vegetable; too starch. The deep fried fish with soy sauce and butter pork rib were average too. All in all, bad taste and not worth the money. I will not recommend this stall to anyone. My and and also my LAST time. Honest comments from a serious foodie.

There were flies all over the area and they came rushing down to the food once served. Request to replace the food that have the flies landed in they just said it is the weather, can't be helped. Request to pack the food then, and replace the food that was attacked by the flies. One server refused. After complaining, they said ok. But when double check on the packed food, they did not replace it. They simply packed the food WITH THE FLIES into the take away pack. When complain again they than did the refund. Very horrible. Eat at your own risk.

Service was really bad. Made reservation and yet was asked to queue up. Bad attitude and service from the main waitress. Such a shame as the food was quite good.

I went there yesterday about 6.30pm. Managed to get a seat for two on the spot. The Hongkong mee is nice and big portion for $8 ( middle size), the veg with 3 eggs ($8 , small) and pork ribs with milk powder ($8, small) are yummy with no doubts and I cannot find these dishes elsewhere in SG. Will visit again...

Great service , well organised zi char ! The restaurant was full but didn’t have to wait for Long. Highly recommended to have their signature dishes - Curry fish head & butter pork ! Too delicious !

Had a few signature dishes including butter pork ribs, honey chicken and drunken cockles. Standard was clearly a notch above the average zichar.

Butter ribs with milk powder was ok but we realised they substituted ribs with fish. (like dory fish fillets). Feedback to the staff and they insisted that it was pork. How can ribs be flaky?

The butter pork ribs have wow my taste buds. The pork was fragrant by the condensed milk powder. The meat was tender and slight sweet.

Prompt service, good food, unique dishes, reasonable price. Highly recommended for any gathering you may have especially the butter pork ribs, tofu with straw mushrooms and shrimp ball with salad cream & floss.

Bad service. Reservations are pointless. They mix walk in and reservations. Staffs give silly excuses and only react if we keep asking.

The Crabs I bought back was a terrible mistake. Looks good on the outside in terms of Size of their coffee shop but peanuts in chilli crab as recipe. Cannot click off the only star as they are really zero in terms of their crabs..Small and very expensive! Never going back again and as the saying goes, you never try never know but once bitten twice shy and in our case...Never recommend.

Butter pork rib was good. Fried belacan kangkong has been overcooked. Honey chicken (taste like marmite instead), a very misleading menu. Minced meat tofu was not fragrant enough and lack of minced meat and the broth was plain and glueish. Also, the staffs' services is poor and unsatisfied.

Portion abit small for some of the dishes..like salt egg prawns, milk powder pork ribs..taste wise not bad..
