Review Nanjing Impressions - Singapore

Went with mental prep after reading about bad services received by others. Our experience was good. Waitresses were friendly. The oldest male staff at the entrance need to improve. He was cold. Food were generally good. Roasted duck and beef tendon stood out among the 7 dishes that we ordered. Love the deco and ambience. Will return to try others.

What’s wrong with the quality of food and service today? Supposedly hot food and dessert came in not hot at all, taste of food has changed so much! Worse was the lack of staff and little attention paid to the customer. From food ordering, asking for extra bowls or new cutlery ( they took the used one ) , we have to wave many times to the service staff whom asked us to wait . we had to ask the service staff to clear the used plates and utensils repeatedly for new plates to find way on the table. We are not feeling “ it “ today , it’s a big disappointment because we used to like this restaurant.

this restaurant serves authentic food from nanjing - every dish is unique & delicious. the service was amazing as well (everything was served very fast). many signature dishes were sold out early so do head over earlier/call to reserve.

I came with another friend and this is our first time trying the food here. Surprisingly we didn't have to wait too long in the queue even when we went at around 6:30pm for dinner. The place was full but the staffs there did try their best to serve us ASAP. We ordered 4 dishes to share; mostly basing on the "signature" sign on the menu. 1. Celestial roast duck dumplings (3/5 ⭐) The taste of the fillings is very strong. It's good to be eaten with rice. If I am just eating the dumpling simply by itself, I'd find it too strong for me, and would prefer the Ding Tai Fung ones. 2. Palace chicken with pickled chilli (4/5 ⭐) This is quite good! Chicken meat is chopped and placed into a mini ceramic pot. The sauce is very appetizing as it is sourish. Would definitely recommend this. 3. Chilled drunken red crayfish (5/5 ⭐) Would recommend this too, especially if you love the taste of Chinese wine. The crayfish soaks up the wine and since it's chilled, it's a really great appetizer to us. We used the leftover wine/sauce on our rice too. Delicious! 4. Shredded/julienned beancurd (4/5⭐) I don't think this is considered part of their signature dishes, but in my opinion this is worth a try! They have the beancurd (豆皮?) which was julienned into fine strips, and this comes in some sort of broth. Probably I'm biased because I love soups/broth-type of dishes. The taste of this isn't too strong or overly seasoned, hence I feel it also works like a soup which I can take together with plain rice. Plus point - Nice decorations!

Visited on a Friday night and there was a queue but it moved very quickly. For two of us, we ordered sliced fish in spicy pickled cabbage broth, jinling noodles, sweet vinegar pork ribs, Osmanthus-scented streamed sponge, brown sugar rice cakes. The portions were not too large so this amount was just enough. Throughly enjoyed the sliced fish that was packed with good mala. I think it was more 麻 than 辣. Also liked the pork ribs that balanced tangy and sweet. The noodles hit the spot and reminded me of Japanese ramen. We did not really enjoy the osmanthus sponge as it was just sweet and rather tasteless otherwise. The brown sugar rice cakes tasted exactly like muah chee and is not the same as the ones I had in China. Service was prompt. Their staff system helped them to work very efficiently. Ambience was also cozy and warm.

Had our brunch here. As was in weekdays & mornIng still not many people dine in still but can see alots grabs are waiting the foods. Impressed by the interior design, very grand and unique deco, authentic chinese style design , big tanglong (lanterns) filled up the whole restaurant. Food - think they famous in “duck” and yes 5atars given 👍 I tried their sour fish taste was ok sour enough; but personally think if add more spicy will be nicer. They also provide CNY reunion set meal, can come n explore. This restaurant one time not enough to explore all, can come few times at least 😊

Beautiful restaurant with oriental vibes serving awesome Chinese food! A feast for a table of 3 costs $100 - a pretty worthy price for items ordered. Roasted duck, multi grain shredded duck rice, and even duck xiao long bao! All of these were well executed and full of flavour, and beautifully tender. I find that the duck dishes savoured today are consistent in quality, and with other reviews online. A definite recommend when visiting the restaurant. The chicken broth wanton and winter-melon soup were both awesome as soup dishes though it was interesting that the chicken broth one was listed as a "snack". The mala tofu was another dish that stands out on its own. Soft and springy tofu and smooth beancurd skin steeped in a spicy and savoury mala soup. Mmmpfh! So good! I find its a great place to bring friends or clients here to enjoy what tastes the City of Nanjing has to offer, and to bask in the ambience that feels a little more distant from Singapore.

I love the beef mee hoon. Starting to miss it already. Nice place too, will bring my old folks there soon.
