Review Colbar - Singapore

Cozy environment as the surrounding is really quiet. The food quality was ok but don’t expect super high five one… we came here because JJ Lin visited here. Secondly the vibe here is really old school style and making it very contrast in this modern Lion city.

Queenstown’s best hidden gem!!!! We always get the pork chop with chips. There’s a lot of sauces to go with the meat and sides. Can ask the staff for them. There’s a good selection of beers (it’s a bar after all!) the pale ale ($9.50) is quite nice. We love sitting outdoors , is also a dog friendly place!

Delicious food and cosy place to chill out. Friendly owner, my dad went up to chat with her and got to know she is already 80 years old. She look so fit! Had order the Hainanese Pork Chop, Sweet Sour Prawn and Cheese Omelette. Will come again as the Hor Fan next table got the Wok Qi that tell me that i must go back soon... 😘

Nice hidden cafe made pretty accessible from the rail corridor. Love the vibes and be prepared with cash else the only thing other you can eat here is grass. Menu can be found on other google reviews here so take a look before you head there!

This place was a really pleasant surprise. Great comfort food. Lots of beer options. Please note that the place only accepts cash. The only thing I was not fond of was it felt like we were being rushed out as one of the servers always came back wanting to collect our plates, even if we were not done eating yet. Otherwise, it was a great rustic place to hang out with really good tasting food.

If you miss the nostalgia place, colbar will definitely gave you that 70s feel where no added frills like aircon but simple stool and table serving local and western food. The standalone building located at Portsdown road and you probably need to drive to get there. Food is just average .. ordered chicken cutlet and egg curry! Quite enjoyable with some special and uncommon beers to keep you company. Surrounded with lots of greenery and a place to enjoy the 70s moment. Friendly waiter to take your order over the counter. You just have to sit and relax waiting to be served.

Ambience was great, pet friendly and all but the food was a major disappointment. School canteen quality at hotel prices. Good for a 1 time experience (Photo below $12 “shrimp cocktail”)

Today a friend of mine brought me here, the 1970s Cafe for my birthday. It was like back to the Kampong days which I missed it so much . I had chicken curry and sweet sour pork chop, we shared. The chicken curry cost $13 and just a piece of chicken tights serve with white rice and no potatoes or vegetables comes with it at all. I had nescafe coffee at $3 , it just a normal Coffee which I can make the same from my home😂 At first I thought is like a old school cafe that serve old traditional coffee but unfortunately No. Their sweet and sour pork chops is better then Hans they gave a good amount of potatoes, slices tomatoes, onions and peas , the meat is slightly tough that's all, this cost $15 My friend had the homemade ice lemon 🍋 tea that cost $4 in a small plastic cup. Overall experienced, I enjoyed more the nature ambience. Food wise, I yet to try others items . Their menu has about 64 items including drinks. Price is like a hotel cafe rates. For those not driving, you can take bus 191 near Bona vista mrt. The bus stop located near Metropolis Building. If you on a budget then this place does not suit you cause I believe there is a way better food out there . All the best if you ever go there.
