Review Open Farm Community - Singapore

Very nice setup. We sat outdoor with a cloudy weather and 2 huge blow fan, it is really nice. Ann was really helpful and provide excellent recommendations. Ann also helped us to decide on the menu where we go with blind taste and but had the main change from fish to lamb. The cocktails are all very nice too. The portion are just right and not too heavy for 2 person, some as other review, price is on the high side but for a special occasion … worth it. Thank you again.

The food served was simple and good. I can't say it was fantastic, but I can feel its freshness. The big size man was a little bit rude. Other female waitresses were very polite tho. I loved the surroundings and environment. All the greens around makes you feel good.

Very tasty food in a lovely setting. Portions were a little small, so make sure you order enough but the tastes were fabulous. A very cozy atmosphere that didn’t feel crowded. The service was very friendly and the advice was excellent.

Had a great dinner here, next time I’ll get here earlier so I can do the tasting menu. Love the farm to table concept, and the food was lovely and light and fresh. Great cocktails (I had the Blue Pea Gin drink), and then the cauliflower wings. Short rib was yummy, as were the potatoes and the pesto pasta. Refreshing coco is and mango dessert. Yum!

Food is delicious and dining environment is comfortable. Prawns are fresh and cooked in rich sauce. Fried cauliflower wings are great appetizer. Not on the menu is beef short ribs, the meat is very soft and juicy, melt in the mouth.

First of all, I disagree with any review that states the food from this establishment is not fantastic. Second, you can beg to differ just because I had the lunch feast - and the experience was nothing short of amazing. Spoiler alert: some of the photos featured are part of this wonderfully crafted meal, curated for those who know and appreciate spices, herbs and natural ingredients. Even so, don't be fooled by its appearance. The textures and flavours might surprise you. The best way to enjoy the lunch feast is to anticipate, taste and appreciate how much time the chefs have spent to make it work. (Stop gossiping about others, savour your food and start complimenting the chef and staff!) Every bit of ingredient, garnish and spice lends familiarity and novelty at the same time - what a gastronomic paradox! Thank you Open Farm Community - for the food, refreshing Mango n Mint mocktail, recommendations and hospitality. I also took the opportunity to admire the rooster and the simple centrepiece greens on every table. I will return, with higher expectations.

Don’t be mislead by the restaurant’s name. The food here is fine, well presented, tasty & delicious. They also have a good selection of wines to choose from. Surrounded by farm vegetables grown just outside the restaurant. Ambience inside is very relax & comfortable, especially at night. Service staff are friendly, attentive & accommodating.

We ordered the eggs in a basket and the carbonara. Of the two, the eggs in a basket was so much better. I loved the mushrooms on the sourdough bread. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and one of the nicest bread I’ve had anywhere. The pork in the carbonara was good though. The place has a nice atmosphere and there’s a farm area around the restaurant that’s nice to walk around.

Loved the ambience of the place. Decor was on spot. Loved the open concept. Came for dinner and it seems like service staff couldn't coped but they were very nice. Had 2 dishes: The red grouper burger, presentation was good. Loved the mixture of potatoes & sweet potatoes fries but it was way too salty. The patty itself was a mixture of vegs & fish but in my opinion was dry for my liking. The bun was also hard. The Lamb Shank dish was better. Presentation was beautiful. Lamb was moist and tender. Like the different texture & crunchiness of it. UNFORTUNATELY when the dessert was served, it contained peacon which is a type of nut and we specifically mentioned no nuts when we make an reservation. The dish was sent back to the kitchen but within 30 secs, it was served back without the peacon. Which means they simply removed the nut but to someone who has allergies, even eating the item that the nut is been placed on it. They will have allergies. So the dish was sent back and then staff came back to us and Chef said this dish contain nuts in it, then why do you still recommend to us and removed the peacon and serve us again then tell us that the whole dish got nuts. This really makes us very puzzled, is it because you don't want to serve us. Yeah.

We have been to this place twice before And had a very refreshing experience ... today however was a mess . Had ordered fish chips for my kids which took 40 minutes to come and had to ask server repeatedly to go and check on status but never got any response from here . Requested for Tabasco and ketchup to 6 different server and finally got it at the end of our meal . Had ordered mixed fries for adults with drinks which came after 35 minutes . Main course for 3 adults ... 2 got served in 20 minutes but mine came another 20 minutes later by which others had finished lunch !!! Overall a very messy service and disappointing experience . Definetely do not recommend this to friends anymore now

Lovely place with exorbitant food and a plethora of other factors that made our experience (group of 4) here far from positive: 1. Poor service: inattentive, it took us a long time just to place order 2. Time taken for food to be served: easily 45 minutes and we were really hungry (we had an 8 PM reservation) 3. Environment: Dripping water from the air-conditioner, the staff was aware and actually let another group took our reserved table because the group arrived earlier and complained about it. Staff gave us an evidently "just suck it up" face when we alerted them about it. 4. Promotion: we were informed that the establishment did not accept Entertainer 1-for-1 promotion; which I found surprising as it's the eve of Mother's Day. Mother's Day is NOT public holiday. I couldn't find any notice on the website or Facebook page despite what the staff told me. 5. Overpriced food which isn't even good: my partner's charcoal burger bun was as hard as and tasted like charcoal. Food serving was surprisingly tiny. Our bill was ~$195. All in all, this place is really not worth a visit. There are many establishments in Singapore which are better in many many ways. Save your time and money, stay away.

Love this place and the concept. It's such a beautiful space and in the heart of Singapore which you don't find often, if at all here. The service and staff were great. Attentive and knowledgeable. My favorite was the lemon grass sago with ginger biscuit dessert. Literally all of my favorite things all in one dish and plated stunningly!

I can see where they're going with the Asian fusion but on the whole none of the dishes were worth the price. I started with the steak tartare- the ginger/spring onion/coriander marinade they used was unpleasantly sharp- this diminished when I had the tartare with the bread slices but didn't totally disappear. More problematic were the pasta dishes. I had the oxtail strozzapretzi and my friend had the mud crab papardelle. In both cases the pasta was severely undercooked, not even near al dente. The sauces were very good, though, so I'm willing to assume this was down to a rushed chef. Alcohol prices were actually reasonable. Servers were pleasant and accomodating but food service was somewhat slow. Combined with the undercooked pasta one gets the impression that the kitchen may have been slightly overwhelmed. The place wasn't hugely crowded though, for a Saturday evening. Decor- they're trying to go for the usual tedious hipster cafe decor but are charging way more than cafe prices. All in all, I really wouldn't come back here or recommend it to others. There are so many tedious hipster cafes in Dempsey alone that they need to stand out in terms of food and Open Farm Community really doesn't, though it tries.

Just the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace ! Seems you are in the middle of nowhere, full of plants and trees... so peaceful... I love it! And what to say about the food and wine!!! Definitely a top in this area!!!

Loving the #kampongfrench menu that will only be there for a limited time. (I think the three weeks are coming to an end soon, so quickly go try!!) I loved the chawanmushi with coconut and the delicate flavours of Tom Yum. My husband really enjoyed the froggets - he ate an entire plate to himself. The BBQ spring chicken is a must have!!! Flavourful and reminded me of the best Ayam panggang I've ever had. The grilled fish collar was meaty and flavourful, and the steamed sea grouper was delicate with the bilimbi salsa lending it a twist of a tang. My sister's favourite was the flatbread chai po - which was the tasty love child of a chee kway with roti prata. The feed me session is worth it at $65+++ and you can choose various items you'd like to taste. Family style of course. But do remember to spray on the mozzie repellent if you're sitting outside! Also, hats off to the sommelier (I think it was Laura) - she knows her stuff and paired the dinner with some wines that really balanced the dishes. Yummy!!

The chicken was amazing and the pappardelle pasta was to die for. Great laid back vibe as well. The wine list is pretty good too:)

After 2 fairly successful visits, we thought we’d come for Christmas lunch. We received the menu in advance and thought it would be a nice place to be festive and make merry. We arrive for our booking- they were serving regular brunch, not the Xmas menu they sent out. No explanation, no apology, no call to let us know before we arrived. Certainly not festive, and not caring that they ruined our holiday meal plan (we just arrived from vacation, and were looking forward to it). They left us calling around day of to find a place that would take us and fulfill our needs. I will not return to a place who has such little concern for its patrons.

We had lunch here on Saturday my friend & I ordered a few dishes and shared we had frogs legs, the beetroot salad, crab pappardelle & the oxtail. It was all so beautiful!! Especially the oxtail so tasty! We also had a punch bowl which was great! All our food came out quick and service was good. Love your concept such a lovely setting highly recommend.

I had the gnocchi which was good taste-wise. However the portions were abysmally small and not worth it for something that was priced $26++. We also had a lemon tart and pumpkin cake for $18 each. The pumpkin cake was a sore disappointment as the texture and taste were like fa gao. I could have paid less for this. To add on to my disappointment the staff were pretty rude when I enquired about the one for one discount they had on the entertainer. It was explained to me that on weekends "brunch" does not have the same meaning as "main course". However in the terms of use on the entertainer app it states that offers are valid 7 days per week except when it is a holiday. Overall it was a disappointing experience especially when it came to paying the bill with their rude staff.

Green seeds cocktail was delicious!! THE food was excellently tasty The decor is colorful and relaxing I will recommend that place for a good brunch

I dined at Open Farm last month with my Friend and my three children. The food was fresh and delicious, but the service was top notch. My Son actually smashed a glass at the table accidentally. Lots of staff came to clean straight away. They bought my Son a brand new lunch without even asking. When I was still eating and holding my newborn the waiter took my two sons outside to explore and see the chicken. It made dining with my three kids a really enjoyable experience..... which is not always the case Thank you. We will be back soon.

Lovely food, with tons of flavour. We had a 4 course meal ("local flavours") between us two, with added starter and a dessert. We shared it all. Main meals were not big, portion wise but we weren't expecting that in such restaurant. It was fine dining !! Will be aiming to return.

Great ambience for a group of friends with an open bar. Food is top notched with a mixture of Asian fusion with western. Chef Russel and his team are artisans on the plate. Very good service crew. Overall a great dining experience.

An awesome hidden gem recommended by the Mrs. Food was delicious, the draft Suntory dark beer superbly chilled and fresh, service delightful. 5 stars!

The food is excellent, the service is relaxed and professional. The ambience on the weekend for brunch is spot on. Don't go if you want a steak house or food court (huge, fill you up serving size) experience; the place seems is all about quality and flavour so think fine dining on a more modest budget. Will be coming back regularly and will definitely be bringing friends.

Not worth it at all. Taste so so but charge super high price and very small potion. The company must be making millions by setting up this restaurant. Never visit again.

Went there at 6pm wanting to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were the first group of four to arrive at the outdoor dining area. Our starters came at 6:45pm and after that everything went downhill. We waited for 30mins and none of our mains was served when the group of 10 sitting next to us have finish eating their mains. I start to ask the staff about our mains and have been told to wait for a few minutes. But the mains never appear even after 15 mins. I asked multiple times again and was told to wait for a few minutes. At 7:50pm, our mains still was not served. We told the staff to cancel our orders and to give us the bill. They came and ask us if we would really like to confirm with the cancelation as they wouldn't want us to leave feeling hungry. This is as if we don't feel hungry waiting ages for our mains. I guess my dad had a memorable and hungry dinner at the open farm community. we will definitely not recommend anybody to have their meals there unless they wanna feel disappointed.

Is upsetting to Hve my birthday ruin by yr waiter. Such a shame to experience that on my celebration. No doubts abt yr food but definitely not a happy place to fill our stomach.

I think this is a nice concept and enjoyed the food! Everything was tasty and fresh. But the desserts, although made well, didn't seem to excite. The components were made well but they don't seem to gel together. Just my two cents worth!
Angela Lim
The oxtail pasta was overwhelmingly salty. The waiter said he will inform the chef. No apologies given. The manager didnt even bother asking why we didnt finish it. The okra gnocchi was great. Overall, customer service was lacking. I wont be back again for sure.
ロシエール タナ
Very slow service, rude Indian service crew, very small portion for the price, not worth it.
Ruchika Prakash
Overpriced food which was more like a "Degustation" serving size. The Beetroot salad had maybe 10 thinly sliced beetroots with a very small portion of quinoa. Really disappointed. They maybe making a mark in the whole healthy holistic eating side of things but the servings and the taste of food do not match the price tag.

Hoping to have a lovely Sunday brunch with my husband and friend, we were all left bitterly disappointed and feeling like it was a completely overpriced experience. Poor service, inedible food in one case, & wrongly served meal. My friends carbonara was absolutely disgusting and looked uncooked with a cold egg yolk on top. My mushroom rigatoni was served without the pancetta on! The drinks took 30 mins to arrive. Then we were told twice that we had to leave because we had done our 90 mins, even during paying the bill when we were trying to leave. That's without getting bitten by insects throughout...never returning again.

Loved the concept, the food and the service! Will come again!

Is it just me or someone else feel the same too? Have been trying to go to this place to have some lunch with family however the lady at the reception absolutely no greeting, and showing no interest. You don't feel welcome in this place. seriously, will not bother ever again.
Mathias Steck
It's a great location to hang out but the food is not very inspirational and hence also priced too high. I think the pricelevel overall is ok for the ingredients used but the cooking could do with a bit more phantasie and love.

An awesome farm-aceutical to cure yourself from the city crowd.

Wow- incredible food in such an amazing setting. What a great concept- we'll definitely be coming back soon.

We love the food, portion was just right. Lemon tart with basil ice cream was awesome.
