Been coming here for their signature fish head curry every time I am in Singapore. Guess it is safe to say it is an iconic dish. The fish head comes with a sizeable portion of juicy neck meat, so even the small portion size is quite enough fish. Once the meat is off the head and on your plate, drench it in that glorious, fragrant curry broth. Get a decent helping of white rice to soak up as much of the broth as possible. Ordered a dry shrimp curry and butter naan as well, both nice. But that fish head, way to go!!

We always like to order curry fish head, it's really tasty and meaty. Besides that, we love the chicken tikka masala, bryani and cheese nan. A bit expensive side but the dishes are delicious.

Located within Little India is Muthu's Curry, a place that is well known for their Fish Head Curry amongst many other Indian Food that they have been serving since they first started in 1969. A winner of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award, a visit was made to try their speciality
Upon arrival, the servers showed the direction to the table and a few moments later returned to take the orders. An order was put in and with a short wait of about 5 mins, the appetisers soon arrived but not before 2 jugs of water was brought to the table at no cost, a really decent thing to do as most other restaurants are just price gouging customers to get overpriced mineral water.
The Samosas arrived with a nice chili sauce. It was fried to the optimum level and both the skin and potatoes within tasted really good. The next to come was the Garlic Naan. Loved the fluffy Naan by itself but it was ordered in anticipation for the Fish Head Curry.
The award winning Fish Head Curry soon arrived and the aroma from the curry had one salivating. The fish head was of a good size and fresh, the flesh was firm and the Curry went really well with the Naan. Biting into the meat was exquisite and heavenly. The staff then came along and asked if any rice was required and Biryani Rice was ordered. The rice was fluffy and yummy, and came with lentils and vegetables. Having the rice with the vegetables and the Curry from the Fish Head Curry was the right choice and so very satisfying.
Given the Chinese New Year season, and also the price gouging by all still open Chinese Restaurants over this period, Muthu's Curry is a shining beacon of integrity by not taking the opportunity to increase their prices and open heart that provides wonderful food to one and all.

The medium fish head curry (red snapper) was a good portion, fresh, meaty and had nice spices. The parts around the face and eyes were tender. The spice for the tiger prawns kebab (4 pcs) was not bad and the prawns were large but they were very fresh. The briyani rice was good with nice vegetable sides and the mango lassi was ok.

It was my first visit to Muthu's Curry, and the curry fish head was flavorful, with a note of sourness in the gravy when I first tasted it. The employees were friendly and accommodating.

Good place to gather with large groups as well. There is no buffet due to covid.

Muthu's Curry is one of our favourite Indian restaurants. These days one can also easily find North Indian fare in a South Indian restaurant and Muthu's is no exception. We had palak paneer (pureed spinach and cheese) and what about the origins of chicken tikka masala and butter chicken? It's so interesting to find out about the history of our food and the culture behind them.
The fish head curry is a must! We had a small one but I alone can eat half of it. It's that delicious! They could give us more ladies fingers :)
The complaint if any is that they forgot to put in or ran out of the papadum (unlikely) which my grands were looking forward to in their Indian meal.

We ordered Manchurian chicken, and it came hot and superb. A bit spicy but it's fine. We also ordered lamb chop and black squid to be eaten with butter naan and white rice. They were all great although I was expecting the squid to be super black like how we can find in Malaysia. We also tried mango lassi, indian chai and masala chai, nothing disappointing. The ambience was cozy too. All waiters were attentive although there were many customers. Will definitely come again.
