Kew “Mitsuwa” Pie
Deservingly 5 stars! I was a Serangoon Garden anchored Resident; had Pow Sing chickens just about every week for long decades. Pow Sing somehow was left out among the accolades of chicken rices signatures named, unfairly biased I would say. I loved the roasted chickens too. Here Jewel they served the white chickens better than nothing. I had the personal set comes with my chioce a pot of refreshing chrysanthemum tea. Quality of tender thigh chicken meat with moist grainy rice just like the way I knew. I ordered an extra Chendol :) . Chilies was mild well blended with my grainy rice :) Service was good staff very attentive. Since I am alone I really didn’t order the peranakan fare bigger portions for more paxs. It’s means a returning visit. Thank you igniting happy memories:)

This restaurant sells good food. But I had recently encountered some judgement issues with their service.
1. I ordered chicken drumstick but was given other chicken parts. Only to realized after I reached home.
2. Yesterday we ordered satay that was supposed to come in 10 sticks at $10 a dish. But was given only 9. See pic.
With all the good and courtesy serving staff, the kitchen staff need to be examined. This is integrity issue in my opinion. Although small matter, but the experience was bad enough with repeated service lag.
Very disappointed and we will not go back to this store. Even as we live nearby and come often to Jewel for meals.

Flavourful chicken rice, chicken, soup and its vegetables! The chilli-ginger-dark soya sauce mix was good too. I would say this was a very good plate of chicken rice. I topped up four pieces of prawn paste chicken. But they were quite disappointing.

Very ordinary plate of chicken rice with $15SGD price tag. It's my fault, I'm desperate at 830PM. Was out from civilization for 15days . The thing on my mind is chicken rice. Only place that have it in the entire airport is this place. I have to go for the shot . So yes , $15 SGD satisfied the crave. Fragrance enough rice . Passable chilli .. ginger is so so but soya sauce is of good quality. Miserable side of carrots and broccoli . Meat of the steam chicken is tender . Sauce for chicken is ok. . Soup is chicken soup enough.
So yes satisfaction of crave , no to wallet a hole was made.

The food is fantastic. Ngoh Hiang taste very different from other shops. It's a must try. Babi Ponteh was super. The pork is cooked to perfection. The fats created a very nice touch to the meat. Sambal sotong well created, a dish my mom will avoid (most outside is tough) liked it because it's not over chewy. Sambal Nonya silverfish fried rice, excellent! You have to try it to understand - displayed the chef skill (wok hei!)

Food Standard drops off…. The curry fish head was so small it doesn’t worth the price paid. Chicken is very normal as Boon tong kee chicken is still much better. The black pepper prawn vermicelli cannot make it as I think the chef don’t know how to cook this dish ! Lastly , even the white rice is sticky !!!! Thumbs down 👎🏻 for this dinner experience!

It was our first time dining session over here. Lurved the tonic Chicken soup. Apparently, some of the yummy dishes wasn't made available for the placing of order. It would be nice if the dishes are made available so that we can have wider choices of selection.
