Great place. Great service, fresh yu tiao (sp?) and really great soup. Not my #1 favorite in Singapore, but absolutely one of the best.

One of the best place for Teichew style non herbal bak kut teh in Singapore. The bak kut teh comes with flavourful broth with rich peppery taste and tender good quality pork rib. Diners can ask for free refill of broth. Recommend to get the more fatty cut of meat. For those who do not like pork, can get theur fish soup that comes with generous amount of sliced white fish with the same flavourful broth. Other recommended items includes Braised salted vegetables, Braised beancurd (tau pok), Braised Pork intestines. For the adventurous, they do sell their spice pack complete with instructions for you to boil the sane bak kut teh at home.

Bak Kut Teh (SGD $12.50) @ Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha. . Established by Mdm Gwee Peck Hua in 1973, this brand is known for its clear yet sharp savoury peppery spice broth. . I feel their Chinese Teochew BKT version is among the most potent in Singapore, punchy and intense, with the spice lingering on the palate and building with each mouthful. . There's a choice of lean or fat pork ribs, both having succulent tender pork meat that pulls away easily from the bone. Has a clean meaty sweet savoury flavour. . The pickled salted mustard greens have a juicy crunch, with mild vegetal salty sweet flavour. A basic fluffy white rice with grainy sweet flavour to accompany.

Decently priced Bah Kut Teh that has been around for long time. Food was reasonably price compared to restaurants. Their braised egg 卤蛋 is tastly and fragrant and the You Tiao 油条 is extra crispy. The Bah Kut Teh was quite good but not particularly much better than other known chains. The soup felt a little too mild for the first scoop that came with the ribs, but subsequent scoops the pepper balance was just right. If there are spaces available, especially during off peak periods in the afternoon, consider seating near the fans as the edges closer to the road can get pretty warm and since the soup will warm you up as well.

Very cool to see the masterchef doing her thing making the soup broth. Peppery but perfectly done. I recommend ribs, eggs, intestines and dough stick. We even bought their soup base to bring back home!

This is a non air-conditioning restaurant, so those of you who needs the blasts from aircons should give this a miss. Otherwise this restaurant rewards you with great food. I don't care too much for the pork ribs, but the aide dishes are wickedly good. The braised peanuts, dau gua, dau poke, salted veggies, you tiao, zicai soup are dishes I swear by. It's a pleasure forme to dine here, but be warned that some dishes do run out. So having lunch here is my best best. There are other branches and sister restaurantsif you need air-conditioning. Look for their main branch at Havelock road and the sister restaurant Tuan Yuan at Kim Tian road.

Old school bak kut teh, one of the best in town. Open early morning until late evening. Plenty of seating available.
