We had sambal buah keluak fried rice, really yummy that we had thoughts of ordering another. Ngo Hiang was tasty & fresh. Seafood otah we fought over it, yes honest, we did. Angled bean salad was refreshing with well balanced dressing. The chap Chye was good value for money & I could just have eaten that with sambal belachan & rice. The sorting masak hitam was another dish we scraped the gravy to last bit. Overall nothing disappointing at all. All dishes were fresh & no heat up, microwave feel. We all voted to come back again & again. Only snag was the aircon not cold enough or probably the lights are hot ??? If place can be tad cooler, one would eat more. Otherwise, yes definitely worthy of a trip to Beach Road. Oh, kueh kosui is another I would definitely buy seconds. Great experience. TQ !
Long, long wait for my food, although the waitress did warn me. But when the food came - aberjack, singgang, buah keluak fried rice, tofu-pidan, they were some of the tastiest food I'd ever had for a long time. Despite the burgeoning crowd, each dish was impeccably prepared. Kudos to Chef Damian.
Husband and I are both big fans of Peranakan food so we had to bring our foreign friends to try some too! First time at Folklore and we'll definitely be back again. Special mention to the buah keluak fried rice and winged bean salad. It would be a sin not to take away the leftovers!
