Nestled in the west of Holland Village, Ghim Moh market has always been popular with both locals and expatriates. This place has a few good eats that you should discover for yourself. Here are some of our finds: Appam from Heavens This place is super popular! You need to have a sweet tooth to appreciate this awesome and calories laden pancake from South India. Made from fermented rice batter and coconut milk, it is a sinful but yummy breakfast ๐Ÿฅ

Came by for lunch after researching that this hawker was one of the best in Singapore ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ โ˜€๏ธ The inner seats were really humid, so much so that the fans were almost non existent.. ๐Ÿช‘ lots of seats around on a weekend lunch time - likely because it really is a huge hawker centre with 6 rows of stalls Stores we tried: Hin Fried Hor Fun - 5 ๐ŸŒŸ ่€ๆฝฎๅทž - 4 ๐ŸŒŸ

Home to several Singapore Michelin Bib listed stalls including the best braised duck in Singapore, Chuan Kee at stall 01-04, this airy hawker centre is packed in the mornings especially on weekends. Other than Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck which is the star attraction, there is also the famous Guan Kee CKT, Ghim Moh Carrot Cake, Heavenโ€™s Appam, Teck Hin Chee Cheong Fun, Ghim Moh Nasi Lemak, the Satay Bee Hoon stall and Gim Moh Chwee Kueh. Highly recommended but be prepared for min 30-min queue on weekends for popular stalls. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Dun go too early. We went pretty early one morning ( avoided morning rush hour). This is a very traditional old food market. But alot of stores are not opened or just opened. Cannot find a store to have coffee, egg and toast. (No toast) Hmm.. because waiting for a few more store to open so can tabao (packed home) Not to go too early. :)

For a day-time hawker centre, this place is quite something. Was here on the weekend, during lunch time, and they were extremely crowded. There were many stalls with extremely long queues, while there were some stalls with zero queues at all, surprisingly. Do make sure you check out the meesiam, the roast duck, the beef horfun, the laksa, and the fishball noodles. All in all, given the mix of stalls here, coupled with the price points catered for a generally older crowd, it's a great hawker centre here in this part of Singapore.

1. Thai food stall: a/ garlic pork rice: generous serving of fried pork, the pork is tender and savoury. The rice is of high quality. Rating: 4/5. Price: $5. b/ Dried beef glass noodle: typical beed noodle like other Thai food restaurants. Rating: 3/5. Price: $5 2. Braised duck: have not given it a try but this stall has the longest queue at 6pm. In the evening, most of the shops are closed.

Had braised duck here, very yummy for 3.5. There's places to buy durian around the market for around 12-15 dollars. Lots of hawker stalls not open in the afternoon though.
