Passed by the restaurant many times on my way to Golden Mile Food Centre. Finally tried the Foo Chow fish ball soup. It did not disappoint, the fish ball is plumpy with a nice texture and bits of pork inside. The soup is piping hot, light with a hint of vinegar. The small soup is $6 with 6 fish balls, I think there are $8 and $10 size too.
You can also add noodles to the soup, or buy the fish balls to cook at home. Will be back to try other selections on the menu.
They have both inside and outside seatings.
The old school red rice wine mee sua is tasty with mild sweetness. The small portion at $6 is sufficient for one but not much meat from the chicken pieces. Good to order a mixed soup of handmade Foo Chow fishball and dumplings as side dish, perfect. The fishballs has the Q-ness unlike the mass-produced kind. Order at the table and pay cash when the food is served. Went during lunchtime, almost full house but no need to wait for a table.
Red wine chicken mee sua was tasty, but could use more wine in the soup. It’s one of my wife’s favorite dishes and she says this is the best one she’s tried in Singapore so far.
Foo chow fishball was good! Prices were affordable as well.
