We were treated here to lunch on a friend’s recommendation, and had a pretty good meal.
We liked the Hanoi pho and the banana plant salad, so much so that we reordered the salad. The deep fried and the soft spring rolls were okay and featured fresh ingredients. The caramel pork banh mi was tasty, and the bread was crispy. The chicken wings were also good.
You order at the cashier, and then pick up your food once the buzzer sounds. The drip coffee was okay, if a little too sweet, while the homemade plum drink was refreshing.
There is parking within the building’ basement, but it was a tad pricey at $3.80 for slightly over an hour.
Nice cozy restaurant, staff are friendly.
I don’t know Vietnamese food well, somehow all the food we ordered here were sort of sweet. Feeling a bit uncomfortable in stomachache after having multiple sweet dishes…
However, if just look at each dish, they themselves are great. The banana flower salad was refreshing. The pork in bun cha was very nicely cooked while the soup was quite oily. The Vietnamese fried chicken was again sweet, coated with lemon flavor syrup, crispy and tasty.
The service is good, very welcoming. The waitress likes to give advise in your choice. We listen to her recommendation by ordering a banana flower salad instead of an usual mango salad. I had my pho bo (I always order beef pho in Vietnamese restaurants to compare which on does the best pho). My wife had a rice vermicelli with chicken.
The Pho bo was so so and the choice of the veggies inside was not ideal.
The banana flower salad was good but too sweet. Not good for diabetes. No soja, too few coriander and too many long garlic.
The vermicelli's sauce was better than the salad's.
