I wasn't going to try their food based on the mixed reviews here until, I actually saw how their business was running during lunch hour. The food here is affordable and the flavors are good. My personal favorite here is their paratas and the mutton curry that's served along with the biriyani. Kothu parata is a must try. However, the samosa and vadai are just about okay. The vadai could be less denser and more crisp. Overall, this place serves really good food, fresh, perfectly spiced and good portion size at an affordable price. So I highly recommend this place.
Never tried their Vadai before so I tried it because the briyani and curry chicken were sold out at 1pm. It is dense and white, crisp and fresh. Everyone should try.
Their briyani is good although not as memorable and fancy(with raisins) as the one from Master Prata Alexandra, but I prefer their non-crispy plain and egg prata compared to Master Prata and the Indian shophouse near NUS. Their masala milk tea is good also. I think their fried and pan-fried food is their speciality. Other Indian places such as Master Prata or the Indian shophouse near NUS would specialise more in curry and kebab dishes.
My family favourite go-to place for meals. The boss and staff are really friendly and service is good and fast. Normally will have thosai or prata which are really good. Occasionally will have chicken or mutton briyani which are also good but rather filling as the portion is quite huge. Drinks that I really like are teh tarik, teh halia and masala tea. Although this seeming easy to make beverage can be found all around Singapore, the guys make it to my liking without the milk overpowering the tea.
