I got to try TheNook because it is the partner restaurant of Big Hotel in Middle Road. Because of this, my stay in the hotel has definitely been happier. The actual dining place looks hip. Its ceiling is high enough to create an illusion of wider space. It aldo houses a mix of high and low tables with an industrial design. There is a long table for people who are dining solo. TheNook has a good selection of food for the breakfast buffet. The menu stretches from Asian to Mediterranean cuisine. I especially love their prawn roll and croissant. These food items are regular in the breakfast menu. The prawn roll is packed with real prawn meat and flavor compared to the prawn rolls available in other restaurants. The croissant has that balance of buttery flavor and flaky/soft that you would oh-so-like. They also serve curry, porridge, cold Plus points also for wonderful service by the food crew. The crowd for breakfast is mostly hotel guests so you'll expect the place to be packed during this time. This might not be a problem if you don't mind sharing a table with other hotel guests. All in all, I would definitely recommend TheNook even for non-BigHotel guests for an ultimate breakfast experience. :)
