Ordered the 2pax set for $8. It seems that they just raised the price recently because it used to be $7 for 2pax set. Came on a Saturday during lunch time and there was no queue. The porridge was really tasty and comforting. The chicken is really tender with sweet sauce which complements the chicken pretty well. Worth trying!

Delicious humble chicken porridge, and the queue moved quickly. It was cheap at about $3,50 for each person. The chicken rice broth when poured into the porridge (Cantonese congee style) made it delicious. They actually have a Bib Gourmand!

Highly Recommendeded 😋😋😋😋😋 One of the best Chicken Porridge stall in Singapore 🇸🇬. For 2 pax, we ordered half chicken ($10), abalone salad ($5), 2 plain porridge (only 50 cents each bowl), and 1 cuttlefish Porridge ($3). Chicken is succulent, very tender and tasty.. goes extremely well with the "smooth" porridge. The $5 serving of Abalone Salad comes with 5 slices of abalone. Not bad but passable to our liking. Still prefer the original fresh Yusheng (raw fish) which they no longer serve !

There are several Chicken Rice stalls at Blk 505 Jurong West Food Centre while I personally feel that Soh Kee Cooked Food stand out from the crowd. . Listed in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 Bib Gourmand, not the usual Chicken Rice stall as they specialise with Chicken with Porridge set. Price from $3.50, it comes with a huge bowl of Porridge accompanied with tender and juicy Steamed Chicken. What I usually order is the chicken thigh ($4.50 per set) as featured.

#01-44 Soh Kee Cooked Food Long time shop specialising in Steamed White Chicken and Porridge. This stall sees many customers coming to enjoy their succulent chicken in the wonderful plain porridge that the shop sells. With the chicken frequently selling out early, one got to come early in the day if they wish to enjoy it. When available, they serve a nice plate of Abalone Salad. Also limited in numbers, these Abalone Salads are snapped up even faster than the Steamed Chicken. General Verdict: Looking at the stretch of tables near the shop, you will see many patrons tucking into the delicious food from Soh Kee by recognising the distinctive bright green plates and bowls that Soh Kee uses to serve their food. Definitely a deserving recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore 2021 Award. Opening Hours: Wednesday-Friday 9:30am to 7:30pm Saturday 8am-7pm Sunday 8am-1pm (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) Queue Situation: About 10 to 20 mins when busy Payment Mode: Cash, Local Internet Banking by QR code or AMEX (Singapore) Pay Is this worth a try? Tasty pairing of porridge with chicken at $4! The huge bowl of porridge is outstanding on its own, and chicken tender without tasting overly salty. The stall also sells several types of porridge as standalone items. Half a chicken costs $11. (Tip: If you are coming in the morning, choose a table that is not beside the butcher stalls at the busy wet market...)

If one is talking about the recommended food stalls in Jurong West 505 Market & Food Centre, it's of no surprise that one of them will be Soh Kee Cooked Food. Soh Kee Cooked Food has been serving delicious Cantonese style porridge ever since my childhood days. This stall has brought back a lot of memories in me ~ I still can remember the days when the lady will automatically provide a small empty bowl on top of my main bowl of steaming hot porridge without fail. That really helped a lot in separating the scalding hot bowl of porridge into a smaller bowl. It had left me a great impression as a child with the kind of warmth gesture offered. Soh Kee Cooked Food is known for its Chicken Porridge. Nevertheless, they do offer chicken, fish, cuttlefish and mix porridge. The usual ones I had will be their Chicken Porridge followed by fish porridge. Like many of the patrons, I cannot resist ordering their chicken porridge set. For a Two Pax Meal, the portion of poached chicken was considered generous. The chicken was succulent, tender and moist. What's more, the wonderful mixture of soy and sesame sauce had elevated its taste. Though this bowl of porridge is simple and down to earth without many ingredients like spring onions with white pepper. I honestly claimed that it does satiate my appetite even in its plainest form. The porridge was served in perfect silky smooth watery consistency and had never failed to satisfy my meal. Every meal is an enjoyment for me. Ever since I had shifted out of Jurong, I'm still missing their porridge frequently. Besides having the bowls of stomach warming porridge, another noteworthy item will be their Salad. They used to serve "Yu Sheng" but due to the with the advent of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infections, such dish is no longer served due to NEA’s ban. Instead, the dish has been changed to Abalone Salad. The dish brings out a connotation of simplest items like abalone slices, scallions, shredded carrots with zesty and citrus taste including the user of crackers, enhancing the crunchiness in the bite. In conclusion, Soh Kee Cooked Food has maintained its standard all these years and YES! I'm still loving it and that means I won't get bored even till the extent of having their food daily. On top of that if you are looking for healthier choices of food, their chicken, fish and cuttlefish porridge are indicated with the healtiher choice logo.
