We read a coupla of mixed reviews but decided to give it a try anyway! We asked for medium rare for the 250g ribeye and the doneness was perfect! The truffle fries paired well with the steak too. Will definitely visit again!
My search for quality steaks have brought me to this hole-in-the-wall joint along East Coast Road. This place is inaccessible by MRT, best to take the bus or simply cab yourself here. There are two separate locations along the same stretch sharing the same menu. I dined at the 43 East Coast Rd outlet.
We both ordered the MS 4-5 Wagyu Ribeye Steak (250g). The steaks came served with a side of mash potatoes or truffle fries, side salad and sauce of your choice. We had the Red Wine and Bearnaise sauce. The temperature of the steak was cooked to medium rare as requested and topped with a medallion of Avocado butter. The Avocado butter was a good finishing to the steak as it slowly melts and keeps the steak moist! The steak was good but could have used a bit more seasoning. Dipping it in the sauce did helped. I felt that the Red Wine sauce was really good and had an interesting savory taste to it like some beef fat was added to it. However, I felt that the steak was slightly too soft and did not have the crust I usually look for in a steak. It could be because of the nature of Wagyu steaks with high fat content and this steak was cut pretty thin. Perhaps next time I could opt for their Porterhouse cut.
Overall a good experience, it was a simple, fuss-free meal at an affordable price. It does deserve a second visit soon!
We were looking for some dinner and luckily stumbled on this nice little steak restaurant. We ordered the flat iron well done and some extra fries to go with it. Service is very good and the steak was amazing ! I would recommend if you’re craving a good steak .
