For freshly baked egg tarts from Drop by Da Sheng Hong Kong Pastry, drop in half an hour after they open. Their generous custard is less sweet than most which makes up for their thick, flaky crust that’s slightly dry. They also sell a few classic pastries including a signature Lotus Paste Salted Egg Yolk Pastry to add to your buys.

Over the last decade, I only buy my BBQ pork pastry buns (Char Siew Su) from this stall. Buttery flaky pastry with mild sweetness. The bbq meat fillings is juicy and flavourful. Best of all, only $1.20 per piece. Friendly lady boss. Highly recommended.

The shop offers traditional Chinese pastries; such as water chestnut cake, lotus seed cake etc which are freshly prepared daily, using vegetable oil & less sweet than those sold by other shops.

Went to Chinatown Complex on 1 March to buy honeycomb pastry from Pan Ji but turned out thw conplex had just started its 3-month renovation that very day. Bought a lao po bing from Da Sheng instead. Oh my, it was warm. I had never had a warm lao po bing in Singapore before. Needless to say, it was delicious.

I came specially to get their bakery but it seems that they are closed for good. No more signage and the iron doors/gates are shut. Look like they have shifted or wind up. So sad to see another traditional bakery gone.

One of the best flaky egg tart in Singapore. Really like it very much. Best serve when it’s still warm!!

Great value-for-money Chinese pastry shop! The malt biscuits, dou sha biscuits and wife biscuits are amazing! Must try! :)
