The decor of this place is tastefully done and dotted with books I would love to actually have in my own library. So apt for a Bar named Writer's Bar, and commemorating Raffles Hotel’s status as a muse for literary greats like Ernest Hemingway and Rudyard Kipling. It's a beautiful and intimate space for a catch up with a friend or a date. As always with all F&B establishments at the Raffles Hotel, the service is first class. My friend and I felt very looked after by the staff, and I just wanted to point out that we are two Singaporean ladies, because I read another review saying Writers Bar discriminates against locals. I can't speak for them because I don't know the whole story, but this was not the experience my local friend and I had at all. We received a very warm welcome on arrival, and it was consistently great service we encountered throughout our whole stay at Writer's Bar even though we only ordered two drinks each. We made reservations in advance for a Friday evening, so make sure you do that since the bar is not that big. Drinks were amazing, and the staff were definitely very well trained in their craft, and took their time to explain the drinks you've ordered as well as make thoughtful recommendations based on your preferences. They were not pushy, and were also very generous with topping up our complimentary snacks. We ordered some bar snacks because we felt peckish, and they were all pretty tasty. We will be back soon!

A bespoke cocktail bar nested within the beautiful Raffles Hotel. It is located beside the main entrance of the hotel. The space is cosy and has calming tones. I love the tall ceiling-- it adds to the charm of the place. They don't serve the classic Singapore Sling but instead the 'Millionaire Cocktail'. Lovely and refreshing drinks! The staff are lovely and attentive. I will be back to try the rest of the menu!

High ceilings with good ventilation. Unique decor that spells the history of the bar. Drinks that were very well concocted. A cosy place for a long overdue catch up (2+ years with my colleague). Ridiculous pricing though. $30 per glass (it goes up as you turn the pages of the menu).

A quiet and reflective place. No wonder it is called the Writer's Bar. The height of the bar puts adds to the calm. Drinks and nibbles and a great place to chill

Beautiful interior, welcoming atmosphere. Nicholas, the head bartender, is a master at his craft.

A hidden gem just off the side of the main hotel lobby. Renovated in mid 2020 and with a new drinks menu this is a must visit. You won’t find the classic Singapore Sling on the menu but the bar does have an older Raffles Hotel drink, the Millionaire Cocktail, which is fantastic. If Nicolas is working on the day expect to be treated to a true experience. His knowledge of drinks is incredible and his enthusiasm is infectious. Drinks maybe a little pricey ~$25-30 mark but well worth a visit if you are around.

I was glad to have chanced into this bar for pre dinner cocktails as it was a day when the Long Bar was closed -- must have been a Monday. The bartender from Slovenia is a master. And, if you want to have a puff, they'll give you a card key to the residents' garden.

The iconic bar welcomes guests with a refreshed cocktail menu of classic, bespoke and reserve concoctions specially crafted by new Head Bartender Nicholas Alexander. Get to know the glamorous and elegant protagonist, Victoria West, with Agent Provocateur, a sophisticated and exquisitely blended cocktail made with Blandy’s 5 Year Bual Madeira, El Dorado 12, Concord Grenadine, lemon and mint; or be charmed by the bright and beautiful Femme Fatale, a cocktail personifying the glamorous bride, Peyton Latchmore, made with Raffles exclusive Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve NV “An Iconic Return”, flowers, apple brandy and Cocchi Rosa. As the night progresses, unravel the mystery with False Alibi, a refreshing blend of Beluga Gold Line vodka, Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc, passionfruit, gum arabic, white balsamic, lemon, egg white and soda based on Zara Avery-Smythe, the girlfriend of the groom’s half-brother; or sip on Saboteur, a fabulous and audacious twist on the classic martini recipe that represents Isabelle Sauveterre, Peyton’s godmother. Cap off the night with Sweet Tipples, dessert-styled cocktails based on the motifs in the novel, Sloth, Wrath and Pride. Complement the experience with a curated selection of elevated bar snacks from the Gourmet Collection. Savour Beef Tartare Toast, Lobster Roll with curry mayonnaise, Parmesan Truffle Fries, and Kristal Caviar among other delightful bites.
