Xiang Ji Lor Mee is one of the best Lor Mee stalls in Singapore. They serve affordable bowls of Lor Mee starting at just $3, with generous servings of ingredients like fish, complemented with rich and flavour gravy too! On some days, you may even see the stall having a longer queue than Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee because Xiang Ji has overtaken it in terms of popularity, but usually you will get your Lor Mee fix in a short 5-10 minutes. Will definitely come again! đ
Really value for money and delicious Lor Mee đ portion of ingredients and noodles are generous. Quick serving too. Was 3rd in queue and was served in 5 mins.
Quality is also amazing. Fish is deep fried and hand flaked by the staffs. And a heap of this delicious fish flakes are given for my $5 (Big) noodles portion. $3 size (Small) has no fish flakes.
Even though the sauce is not very flavourful, it coats the noodles evenly and remains starchy even after a while. Condiments such as garlic paste, chilli sauce, chilli padi, coriander and vinegar are added by the staffs which gives a good ratio of flavour. Chilli padi gives a warm kick in your belly which was nice.
Lor sauce is fragrant and the garlic & chili sauce makes it even great taste. The lor soup wonât become watery after half way dipping to the bowl. Considering itâs $3 portion, the portion of bee hoon/noodle, sliced meat & 1/2 egg, this bowl is actually offer a good deal. Fit for any lady and some guys. Can definitely support if its not too long queue.
Still my Best lor mee. Gravy and ingredients with the slices of fish is generous.
The lady which I believed is the daughter of the owner is amazing . Not many people have memory like her , taking 10 order in one goal
There was a short queue at the Xiang Ji Lor Mee stall when I arrived. My waiting time was just 10 minutes, but when I was walking away with my noodles, the queue was already 12 pax long.
Besides all condiments, Wifey and I asked for more minced garlic.
The $5 bowl of flat yellow noodles was filled with good portions of shredded fish, lean meat, belly pork, Wu Xiang and two halves of braised hard boiled egg.
After mixing the condiments of minced garlic, black vinegar, cut chilli slices and Chilli paste, the noodles were delicious. However, wifey felt that the gravy should be darker (with a tinge more black soy sauce), that would have given the gravy more flavor.
The Chilli Paste wasnât that special, not like in certain other stall where the Chilli Paste would give an extra oomph.
Despite the additional scoop of minced garlic, it didnât give that extra spicy taste.
But of course at $5 per bowl, I must say itâs pretty nice and good value.
Their Lor Mee was packed with ingredients and very affordable too. The flavorful gravy was thick but it wasn't starchy like others. It came with generous toppings of fried fish, ngoh hiang, pork belly, hard boiled egg and lots of beansprouts. It really satisfied my Lor Mee cravings. Will be back for more.
