My review is only for the Chinatown Point branch.
I started patronizing Wa Cafe at the Chinatown Point branch since they first opened around 2-3 years ago. Back then they used "free wifi, no gst, no service charge" as their attraction point. One would have expected no (or even bad) service since there was no service charge, right? But no! Their service was one of the best i had encountered in a restaurant. So naturally when they introduced gst and service charge, i thought it was fair enough as their service staff deserved it. Although I only went back once to Wa Cafe after they introduced the charges, i was glad to find that their service level remains the same. Keep up the good job!
On the food front, i love their Omu Rice with Meat Sauce since day one and the standard of the food has not dropped since. The baked rice and the spaghetti are also my favourite! I also like the signature siphon Wa-Coffee and their Matcha Shake. Overall food is great and definitely the main reason why i get urges to go back again.
It was quite sad to read many negative feedback on the Shaw branch in regards to their service level. I just hope that the Chinatown Point branch won't become like that.
I must say this 5stars is only for the Chinatown Point branch. It remains my sanctuary for dessert and ogura toast.
I was kinda secretly pleased that I had the chance to eat it before the long queues formed at the second branch in Shaw. I finally visited this branch a few weeks ago, and realised that they do not treat their customers the same way as their primary branch. Very odd. And why are they not affiliated to the 1st branch? I was not allowed to use the membership card at the Shaw branch? V odd right. I thought they might want to reward their loyal customers who liked them before it became a 'hipster-cafe' hit.
🧧🧧🎋 Visited my good friend who been serving our family since they were young. She reprsented Samsung and now with Singtel. Her services is still one of the best for me. The decoration this year well done. !👍👏🎋🧧
Mostly crowded but fun place to visit and do street shopping. We went in the late evening and could click some nice pictures. The street is always kind of decorated with some theme or the other. This one’s for the Chinese New Year 2022.
Like any other chinatown except this one being Singapore have the added feeling of being in a safe place plus it is clean though old already (I meant the place) but there is a better mall across the street which also a subway station. I’d figured out this would be a better place for the locals in getting their needs at a cheaper price but this is also a nice place to tour around just have the feel of the place.
Visited after Chinese New Year day on the weekday. It wasn't really pack during it. Waited till a bit dark to see the tiger decoration in the front of the mall. They have a quite number of decorations for Chinese New Year.
The tiger decoration is big and exotic. This attracts visitor to come and look at it.
