Food haven for those with local tastebuds. Plenty of kopitiam food at reasonable prices. Usually crowded in the mornings (yet to visit during lunch/dinner hours).
Some of the must-try's:
1. Min Ji Laksa; extra ingredients at $1 and you'll get a bowl filled with fresh/juicy/plumpy cockles, one whole egg, tau pok's and fish cakes.
2. Bendemeer Prawn Noodles; one of the best broths of all I've ever tried, plus the pork ribs are super tender/juicy!
3. Heng Kee Lor Mee: famous for its special deep fried and braised pork belly, wanton, egg, etc.
Notable mention:
1. Toa Payoh Hwa Heng Beef Noodles: rave reviews but never got a chance to try out yet.
Varieties of nice local food. Easily assessible just next to Boon Keng mrt.
My fav is the indo curry indo rice. Big portion, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Their assam fish is a must try 😋.
Always long queue so best to be there before 1130am to beat the lunch crowd.
Highly recommended:-
Complete your meal with a fragrant freshly brewed traditional kopi ☕. If you have room for more, try the handmade Teochew kuehs👍🤗
Alright cleanest among the rest of hawker centers. I came in the evening for a bowl of laksa Yong tau foo. $ 5 very pocket friendly 👍
