I got the Tori katsu set and was happy. Chawan mushi was perfectly cooked, tofu salad was fresh, curry portion was generous. The curry taste was different though, had tomatoes with it and the curry flavor was mild. Service and value is very good.
Craving for Japanese food led me to Ichiban Boshi. Being in Singapore I was fluttering to try the Singaporean take on Japanese. I didn’t find it much different than our Indian fine-dining Asian, cept that Ichiban Boshi is more affordable and has milder noshes.
I tried their Sushi, Californian Crab Meat, Prawn, Tempura and Yellow Tail. It was so delightful and lip smacking.
I loved their Fried Tempura and Chicken Gyoza. I also tried Tofu salad and Saki: A Japanese alcohol served warm in a small black pot.
Miso soup was mild, yellowish water of some vegetable and bland but healthy enough so I didn’t pass it up. I also ordered some Japanese Green tea and by far it’s the best Green Tea I have had. I so liked it that I asked them to repeat.
My verdict is that their Sushi and Gyoza is to die for. Very Japanese and original. Anyone having a tongue for Japanese should try this place.
Had a reservation at the restaurant for my wife birthday. I have inform them in advance. But upon arrival, manager did not check and straight point us directly to the bar table. I only got a table after reminding her.
Food was ok but the prices are slightly above the average. Spend about $200+ with an order of tokusen sashimi, fish nabe, fried chicken, unagi and boiled bean. And of cause, a small bottle of sake.
