Free-flow green tea was part of the service charge and the staff were so elegantly dressed in kimonos so it did feel like a mini Japan. The tableware were all thoughtfully planned out and absolutely exquisite. Food was delicious but not particularly fantastic. I have had other yummy omakase elsewhere at better prices, which featured more seasonal ingredients and could delight me with a new gastronomic experience. That said, their unagi with plum sauce was a match made in heaven and the dessert pudding was really niceš
Located in intercontinental bugis, Chikuyotei is famous for their unagi. And indeed i think itās hands down best unagi in sg, even better than man man.
We had the Tokyo unagi set meal which was excellent and the unagi melts in the mouth. The service here is also amazing and the servers are dressed in kimono and they refill your green tea
Apart from the excellent unagi, The pudding dessert is also a highlight, itās wrapped in a pretty manner.
Me and my friend even had some fun folding the cover paper of the dessert into a Japanese paper crane !

Ordered the hitsumabushi lunch set that comes with salad, chawamushi, hitsumabushi set, and pudding. Really worth for ~$75(after GST). We enjoyed everything from start to finish! They use high quality ingredients and the ambience makes you feel like youāre back in Japan. Waitresses are also dressed in yukata and are very polite. We loved the caramel pudding so much that we wanted to buy back home, but unfortunately they donāt sell it because they reuse the glass jars.
We tried Mitsumabushi style eel, really tasty with clear soup. The mocha ice cream taste smoothly not sweet. Overall the environment is really nice and quiet!
The ambience of this restaurant is quiet and relaxing. I had the unagi lunch set which comes with appetitizer, sashimi, 2 different unagi small dishes and the main unagi dish with rice. I must say that their unagi is very similar to the one I had in hokkaido. Moist, soft and not overly sweet. However, I donāt know how people deal with the tiny bones of unagi, which makes it less enjoyable for me.
My husband ordered the beef tenderloin set with rice. The meat is mixed in with the sauce, and taste pretty good and tender. Definitely enjoyed that, especially with the crispy garlic pieces. The chwanmushi has a mild hint of yuzu.
And the caramel custard has ended our meal well - creamy and not too sweet.
Most excellent meal. Some of the best unagi Iāve ever had even compared to places in japan. Unagi was tender, smokey and best of all, they didnāt bathe it in super sweet sauce.
